Have you ever had glorious plans for a fantastic meal only to have your plans go up in smoke? Certified Steak and Seafood saved our Christmas Eve Dinner by showing outstanding customer service and providing an outstanding product.
Last week, Plum District had a GREAT deal from Certified Steak and Seafood. For $50.00, you received a $100 voucher to use on anything at their site. When I checked out their yummy looking Prime Rib, I knew Robert would be elated to have Prime Rib for our Christmas Eve dinner. Since we were leaving for the mountains on Thursday evening or Friday morning, I knew I had to move quickly on this great deal!
I bought the voucher, and was immediately able to use it. I purchased the Prime Rib and was able to pick my shipping date. I chose Thursday so that it would be fresh for us to take to the mountains.
As we scurried around on Thursday getting everything together, I kept checking the FedEx website. It was out for delivery at 11:30 am with a guaranteed delivery for 4:30 pm. PERFECT! We would leave for our trip at that time, and be in the mountains six hours later since our cabin rental started on Thursday.
4:30 came and went. As well as 5:00, 5:15, 5:30, 6:00..,I kept refreshing because the car was packed and we were just sitting and waiting at the mercy of whenever FedEx decided to deliver our 4:30 guaranteed package. At 6:49, we had an update! “Rerouted for return to Facility” WAIT- we were here, why is it going back to the facility? We called FedEx to hear that they did not have time to deliver it, it was delivered back to the facility, an hour away from my house, and the office closes at 7:00 pm. We explained this package was on dry ice and HAD to be delivered or it would spoil. An hour later, frustrated with several phone calls to FedEx, we left on our trip, without our Christmas Eve dinner.
On Friday, I made a call to Certified Steak and Seafood. Customer Service picked up IMMEDIATELY. When I explained the same story above to the Customer Service Rep, she had the same reaction we did. She said she would call me back in a few minutes. Promptly, just four to five minutes later, she called me back asking for the address for the cabin we are staying in. They were sending a new one OVERNIGHT to our vacation rental. She apologized (although it was not needed because it was FedEx’s fault, not Certified Steak and Seafood)! She said they would make the claim with FedEx and they were making sure we got our Christmas Eve Prime Rib. She called later with a tracking number for us as well!
My phone call was simply to inform them what happened, because even if I got a neighbor to get our Prime Rib, I was not sure it would be any good since it was not delivered on that specified date. I never expected such outstanding customer service from Certified Steak and Seafood!
Our new prime rib arrived on Christmas Eve by noon!
Not only is their customer service outstanding, we have never had a finer Prime Rib! It was tender, juicy, and a perfect piece of meat. Certified Steak and Seafood now has a new customer! Thank you for providing a wonderful, memorable, Christmas Eve dinner!
