Clap your hands! Stomp your feet! Stand and Holler from your Seat!!

Whatever you do, Do NOT Miss Dixie Stampede when you are in the Pigeon Forge area!!! WOW, what a SHOW! It truly has EVERYTHING for EVERYONE!

I cannot even begin to tell you our favorite parts of Dixie Stampede. The riders on the horses doing tricks, the North versus the South competitions, the piggies running a race, Skeeter and Skeeter Downs, the Southern Belle, the lumberjack competition, the Patriotic Tribute, the list goes on and on!

But wait, I am getting ahead of myself. Go early before your show so you can meet the stars of the show- The Quarter Horse and Palomino Breeds! Get your picture taken next to their open-air stables! Beautiful Southern Belles will guide you to the ticket booth and entrance where you will stop to get your picture taken. These will be brought to your seat at the beginning of the show for your option to purchase! It is a great souvenir to keep of your trip to Dixie Stampede!

When you first get into Dixie Stampede, you enjoy the Carriage Room Show. Mountain Ruckus gets the whole crowd joining in traditional favorite songs with a little bit of everything from country, to classic rock, to rock and roll with a good ole’ mountain twist to it all! The crowd on the evening we went were filled with excitement as they clapped, sang, and stomped along to the music! I LOVED it and it really got me ready for the main attraction in the arena!

You can purchase a drink in a souvenir boot mug, along with peanuts and popcorn! We ended up getting three different drinks to try and loved each one. 3 kids were sitting near us that kept looking at our mugs so we passed those along to them after rinsing them out so they would each have a souvenir of their own!

The curtains part and you are ready to go grab your seats in the 35,000 foot arena for the next 1 hour and 45 mins of fun, laughter, and amazement!

I was captivated at the beginning of the show when they were doing horse and barrel tricks, but really could not keep my eyes off the arena when one of the beautifully graceful riders stood on the backs of 2 horses and rode OVER fire blowing up between her legs, jumped over fire, and jumped THRU a firehoop!

The fun doesn’t end there. It is only just beginning. Dixie Stampede has a whole show filled with the history of our great country from the Native Americans to the New Frontier. The lights and blacklight effects on each of the acts is gorgeous. I don’t want to give too much away but be sure to keep an eye on the arena at all times or you will miss something going on!  Robert had to keep reminding me to eat because I was that engrossed in the show. OH, speaking of eating! I haven’t told you about the delicious meal they serve to you!

First, Kudos to the servers! How in the world they keep that many people happy, all served at the same time, drinks filled, while the show is taking place, AND do it all with a smile on their face is beyond me. Plus, they actively participate in parts of the show, too! It is so incredibly organized and efficient. Be sure to come with an appetite and tip money for your great servers!

  • A Mouth-Watering Tender Whole Rotisserie Chicken
  • Delicious Hickory Smoked Barbecued Pork Loin
  • Dixie Stampede’s Original Creamy Vegetable Soup
  • Scrumptious Homemade Biscuit
  • Hot Buttered Corn on the Cob
  • Tasty Herb-basted Potato
  • Dixie’s very own Specialty Dessert
  • Unlimited Pepsi®, tea or coffee
Vegetarian? Don’t worry! Just let them know when you make your reservations and you will have a delicious meal, too!
  • Country Garden Vegetable Pasta
  • Dixie Stampede’s Original Creamy Vegetable Soup
  • Scrumptious Homemade Biscuit
  • Hot Buttered Corn on the Cob
  • Tasty Herb-basted Potato
  • Dixie’s very own Specialty Dessert
  • Unlimited Pepsi®, tea or coffee

Then at the end of the meal, the servers bring a warm towel for you to wash your hands off on! How is that for great service?

Throughout the show there are competitions where each side of the audience is cheering for their team to win- either the North or the South. I loved all the audience participation! From young to old, no one is left out and 4 and 5 year olds were cheering and participating as loud as the 70-80 year olds! The arena sits 11,000 people and you would think we had all been the best of friends with all the interaction everyone was doing cheering their favorite side on.

Humor abounds throughout the show and at one time, I had tears rolling down from laughing so hard. Those tears turn to pride at the end during the Patriotic Tribute. The end is beautifully choreographed with lighting and with the horses, riders/singers, as well as a message and song from Dolly Parton on the huge screen.

GO, GO, GO….Have I mentioned you must GO to Dixie Stampede? Their tag line is “The Most Fun Place to Eat” and it truly is…FOR  EVERYONE!
