Carving pumpkins is a family tradition dating back to when I was a little tyke. When I got married, my wife and I would always buy a pumpkin and carve it, namely because I wanted to carve one and she wanted to bake! Well this year my sister-in-law is staying with us, going to school and I found out that she had NEVER in her life carved a pumpkin! Poor child! So we packed up, went to Wal-Mart, picked out some great pumpkins and went to work!

Many of you know that I’m weird. I’m one of those perfectionists that really isn’t happy with something unless I think it’s perfect, or at least as perfect as I can get it. So it should come as absolutely no surprise that we have molds to carve pumpkins. My sister-in-law wasn’t going to get away with two eyes, a nose and a mouth, oh no, she was going to CARVE a designer pumpkin.

I’d love to hear some of your pumpkin carving stories! Please share!!
