There are more uses for vegetable oil besides cooking and baking. If you have a lot of it on hand due to some great coupons, an amazing sale at the grocery store, or are just looking for some creative and frugal uses for it, then continue reading and find out some uses that you may have never considered.
Coat the gaskets around the doors of your car with vegetable oil to prevent them from freezing shut during the winter months.
You can remove tar, bird droppings, and old bumper stickers from vehicles by covering them with vegetable oil for 15 minutes, then washing it off with soap and water.
If you have a sticky lock, put the key in vegetable oil, then wipe the excess. Put the key in the lock and slowly turn it from side to side to loosen the lock.
Use a rag dipped in vegetable oil to lubricate window locks, gliders, and door hinges.
Apply a dab of vegetable oil to tools to keep them from rusting.
Rub vegetable oil on leather gloves or an old baseball glove to take away the stiffness.
Vegetable oil can be used on wooden cutting boards, butcher blocks, and wooden utensils to keep them lubricated. Just put a dab of the oil on a paper towel and rub.
You can use vegetable oil to get decals and price stickers off of wood by saturating it for 10 minutes, then peel it off.
Vegetable oil works wonderfully to clean your pearls. Just dab a little bit on, then wipe dry with a soft cloth.

Dab a tiny bit of vegetable oil to the wrinkles around your eyes at night. This also works well as a skin moisturizer.
If you have problems with dry, cracked feet, then rub vegetable oil on them and put on pair of cotton socks. You will wake up with soft, moisturized feet. You can also use this method for dry hands and cuticles.
Instead of buying hot oil treatment for your hair, you can simply heat up vegetable oil in pan until it is warm, but not to hot to touch. Soak your hair, concentrating on the ends in the oil. Let on for 30 minutes, then rinse. If you have extensive split end damage but don’t want to cut your hair, then let on overnight. It will not repair the split ends, but it will make them less noticeable.
If you are out of shaving cream, you don’t need to run to the store. Simply use vegetable oil and have the added bonus of smooth and silky skin.
There are many great, unusual and useful uses of vegetable oil. You could also save money by using it to replace expensive beauty treatments and cleaning products.
