Five Spice Lettuce Wraps
 
These are super easy to make and are a great LIGHT dinner to share with your family! Hannah our two year old even enjoy the non-traditional ‘lettuce burrito’ as we called it!
Recipe type: Entree

Ingredients
  • 1 pound of lean ground beef
  • One can of water chestnuts chopped
  • One red bell pepper chopped
  • One cup of onions chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of five spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon of hoisin sauce
  • Three garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • One head of butter lettuce
  • One cup of rice cooked
  • Low-sodium chicken broth as needed

Instructions
  1. Cook all ingredients together except for the rice until meat is thoroughly cooked and veggies are softened
  2. Cook rice to desired firmness
  3. Remove leaves carefully from lettuce head
  4. Place meat into lettuce wraps and top with carrots, cilantro, chives, basil or mint as desired.
