Technically many companies do make separate trial and travel size packages. I have seen some in the store, like Tide has the travel packets and the 6 load trial size. Cascade as the 3 and 4 load trial size bags. However, I think the intention is as important as the wording. If a coupn says "excludes trial size" I'm not going to make the stretch to use it on a travel item. I think sometimes it's a judgement call. If it feels wrong, it probably is. If it seems like a reasonable deal, go for it!
