Could someone please spell out this HE deal?

Months ago I went to rite aid and tried to use $1/1 coupons on something that was bogo, and they would not let me. So why will they let me use the buy shampoo get styler free tomorrow? I just dont want to go into my riteaid tomorrow and have them tll me I cant do it.
