I went to Petsmart today to get some cat food and I noticed that they had coupon books at the entrance. They were larger size (maybe 8x11) with a blue Christmasy cover and it says "Bring Home the savings for the lovable pets in our lives" from Purina. I picked it up and inside was a $2 off Tidy Cats coupon. It said manufacturer Q on it, but it also said "Valid only at Petsmart". It has a bunch of other Q's in it, all expiring 11/30/09.

They had the large 35 lb. containers of scoopable Tidy Cat on sale for $12.99. Use the $2 Q and it is only $10.99. The best part is that specially marked containers have a $5 Petsmart Q inside, making them only $5.99.

I didn't open the containers and use them today, but I plan on doing that tonight and see if I can sweet talk my DH into going back for me tomorrow.

Updated to add: I just opened the packages and inside was a "Save $5 on your next purchase at Petsmart" expire 5/30/2010. They are in a little shrink wrap package and were at the top of the litter and very easy to find.

Update #2 I called to ask if I could use the $2 and the $5 coupon together on the same container of cat litter. And she said no. I think I will go ahead and use the $2 because they expire sooner and the $5 is good on anything.

Update #3 Since I don't want to mislead folks, I want you to know I called them back again and asked if I had a $20 bag of dog food, could I use four $5 coupons to pay for it. She said no. It is one coupon per item. I think the Tidy Cats is still a good deal. If you buy four and use the $2 off coupons, buy four more using the $5 off coupons from the previous packages, it works out to $9.49/container or $.27/lb.
