Something odd happened today at Albertsons. I purchased 3 Starbucks Mocha Frap 4-packs (totaling $15) and didn't receive the $3 instant savings, promised in grandiose letters at the top of the ad.

I thought, for a moment, that I visited a store that wasn't part of the promotion, but I checked the front of the store and saw the gigantic printout of the ad that literally screamed you'll get $3 instant savings when you buy $15 of the products below.

I went to customer service and let them know I didn't get the instant savings. A slightly humorous thing happened: the cashier that checked me out actually stopped checking out another customer to run over and do a little CYA song and dance to point out that I got $3.99 savings on each of the 4-pks, before the customer service person told her she would handle it and that the cashier should attend to the other customer. Anyway, it was no big deal, the customer service woman went over to the sign, took a look, came back, performed the refund, problem solved.

Moral of the story: trust but verify.
