Leaf WUC Coupon your way out of Debt!

I am sure you are all thinking this girl is crazy, but believe it or not this really works!

One of the many fabulous things about this hobby is it really does not cost a lot to do (unlike husband's woodworking hobby!). You get a bunch of coupons and you stockpile. And then you stockpile some more. And then..you have no place to live because you keep finding things for free everywhere you go!

I know you know what I am talking about! Got toothpaste under your bed? Shampoo in your closet? Maxi-pads for your grand children that aren't even born yet?

Face it..you have to donate that stuff, give it away or sell it!

Well, you can only give so much away before your friends think you have a serious problem. And sure you can donate it the many food banks, but even if you got these items for free, they did cost you - Gas, time, cutting coupons etc..

Why not donate some, give away some and sell some??

Cooler weather is coming - This would be a great time to prepare for next years sale! You would have 8 months or so to accumulate so much stuff you will have no choice!

I guarantee once you start doing it, you will be hooked!

No here is the best part! Take your earnings from the sale and start paying off those Visa and Master Cards..And OMG how would it feel not to have a car payment?

Take it from someone who has got this down to a science! June of 2008, I had $25,000 in loans...After October 2009 I will be at 0!!

All because I had garage sales selling my stockpile items. There are many members on this site already doing this, including MrCoupon!

Go to the stockpile forum and see all the success stories.

Life Takes Visa...

I say

VISA TAKES LIFE!

It doesn't matter if you make $100 or $1000 just do it!

My Coupons are my American Express Card - Don't leave home without them!

great advice! now if you could just take a road trip out to my house and give me a swift kick in the butt so that I actually do it I have a small stockpile and some things I bought with the intentions of having a yard sale. This year I can use the "well, they've been working on my street all summer' excuse but really I'm just a HUGE procrastinator. Maybe I'll get my act together for next year

Well..
You can:
1. Buy extra papers
2. Buy coupons on ebay
3. Buy coupons from members here
4. go to recycling center and get the coupons for free - is work, but they are free
5. Post a wishlist or an ISO (in search of) for specific coupons you are looking for.

They are many members here that would be happy to help!

My Coupons are my American Express Card - Don't leave home without them!

I am not sure where you live but here in NW Ohio...I buy 10 papers a week for $1.00 each at Dollar Tree Store. That $10.00 spent is Always paid back in the same week by deals with those coupons. That is for starts....then we are constantly on the lookout at stores we shop for more coupons that manufactures put in the stores....This past weekend when there were no inserts I was still filling coupons because I found books of coupons from Right at Home at two different Meijers. Friends and family now know I am looking for coupons and they give me their extras!

When I see a good deal, I ebay to get more coupons on things we use.

But there are MANY avenues I have not even touched!!! Dumpster Diving, FSOT, or trains to name a few.

The one thing I find simply amazing is how many people I can help with this simple hobby!! And the friendship we have made!

Moon.....since starting last Jan. seriously couponing, I have filled a spare bedroom with items....Yes it is time for a Stockpile sale, soon! Thank you for your dedication to all of us!

Inspiration --- follow your heart and your User Name!! The deals will follow!!

I will help you if I can ....just pm me.

Thanks, I've been thinking of stockpiling to maybe have a sale next year, but I'm still kind of learning since I started couponing in March of this year. I've mentioned it to my DH, and he's on board with the idea, but we clearly have no room for anything. I might have to use my parents basement or something. I know they're going to think I'm insane, but I truly believe that would help me with some of my bills

As for coupons, I only buy one paper, and I subscribe to the free weekend edition papers and end up with tons of coupons that way. Those come with inserts, but they vary from the regular paper. I still end up with a lot of coupons for use or even trading. I also have the free papers sent to my parents and sister's house.

I really like the idea of couponing my way out of debt. I've been doing this for almost 5 months now and I've got more food/supplies than I've had in my entire married life (13 years).

I'd love to hear/read everyones success and/or stories and suggestions. Has anyone been successful without doing the 'sell' aspect of coupons and stockpiles?

Unfortunatley, for me and my area...it wouldn't be worth the time or effort to have a stockpile sale in my neighborhood. Between jerky neighbors and strict rules (permits, taxes, etc).

Also, for those that do the sales...how do you go forward with reporting the income at the end of the year? Do you have to?

One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.
A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. -Proverbs 11:24-25
