Default Question about using vinegar as a fabric softner.

I was just reading up on homemade laundry soap and just may give it a try! I was reading also that many people use vinegar as a fabric softner and it works great! My question is, for the closthes that you DONT put into the dryer, do they smell like vinegar? TIA

I use vinegar in the rinse water all the time and it leaves absolutely no odor. Unfortunately, I can't offer an opinion as far as air drying because I always use the dryer but I can't imagine it would make any difference.
