We have done the single layer for years to put in gift boxes and have used Graham Crackers or Captain's Wafers......I can't wait to try the double layer!

As long as you have the crackers and chocolate out, try this. It's DELICIOUS!!!
saltine cracker toffee candy

2 sticks real butter (not margarine)
1 cup brown sugar
12 oz semi sweet chocolate chips
saltine crackers (about 40)
1 cup chopped pecans

mix butter and sugar and boil for 5 minutes
pour over about 40 crackers (in a single layer, salt side up) spread to cover.
bake at 400 degrees for about 5 minutes or until crackers "float"
cool for a minute and pour 12 oz chocolate chips over top. spread when melted. sprinkle chopped nuts (pecans) on top. chill and break up. store in air tight container in refrigerator
