Default Checkout51 anomalies

For the past couple weeks, I've been having weird issues with CO51. It keeps telling me "Claimed Limit" for items that I've neither bought nor submitted claims for.

This is different from those offers that are all used up (like 0 Remaining). I wrote them and got a stupid generic response that made clear nobody had bothered to read my email.

Then it happened again this week. I haven't redeemed any offers, but there are some new ones that say "Claimed Limit" again.

Either somebody is hacking their site, someone is making stupid clerical errors and allocating rebates to the wrong account (in my case without giving me the corresponding rebate), or their software is going haywire. Naturally, they couldn't possibly give me the actual rebate that I supposedly had claimed. A simple investigation into my receipt submissions would clear up the situation immediately. They're either too overworked or lazy to verify that I did not redeem any of these false "Claimed Limit" deals.

One other possibility is that the marketing company that runs CO51 is doing this to fraudulently prove that they are getting better results with customers claiming rebates by indicating that people are submitting for more than they actually are.

At any rate, I'm pretty unhappy with the way I've been treated by them over this situation. I've written them twice and have yet to get a response to indicate that they are willing to investigate this problem. Given it's linked to my paypal account, it makes me a little nervous to keep doing business with them under the circumstances.

Has anyone here had any similar problems?

I have the same problem. I have noticed on the ones that it says I have redeemed they are offers that I have loaded to my account on saving star. I actually prefer s* because I have time to buy the product and send the receipt in.

Do you use the same addy for savingstar? I've had this issue & gotten the same generic non helpful responses. I figured out on my own that these were offers I had activated on savingstar. Somehow, the 2 are connected. I changed my email addy & it fixed the problem. Btw, you can have more than one email connected to your PayPal. HTH !

Some of them ARE overlaps. I do have more than one email connected to paypal, but maybe I should change the e-mail for S* as I do have the same one for S* and CO51. Most of these are weird things that I won't buy. But come to think of it, the Edwards pie thing is a duplicate as is the Puffs tissue offer. I haven't purchased either of them, though. So it should not appear as "claimed limit." The idea that the apps are communicating behind my back through the mere fact of linked email address totally creeps me out.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly, I have to write to S* Customer service to change my email address. It's not an automatic thing. It should change in 3-4 business days?

I posted a complaint on the FB page of Checkout51. I can get that they want to avoid duplicate submissions, but either S* is now owned by CO51, or they're accessing our apps without our permission. If it's the latter, that makes me extremely uncomfortable.

I read an article about 2 apps sharing information. I saw this wording on CO51 when I was doing Fred Meyer coupons matches: Some savings apps do not allow you to use any other print or in-app coupon.

In this example, one could use the coupons.com or CO51, but not both.

Keebler Club Crackers $1.67
9 13.8oz
- $1.00/2 Keebler Club Crackers (coupons.com) OR
- $1.00/2 Keebler Club Crackers, 8.8oz+, exp. 8/16/17 (Checkout 51)
Final price: $1.17 each wyb 2

(H) Multiples of each weeks inserts
(ISO) WL, Kroger and Fred Meyer mailed coupons

I've realized that you can't use any coupons on certain products if its excluded. But I did get some for BOGO a few weeks back

Checkout51 is like a minefield. So many exclusions and they're not all posted in the same place.

There are multiple reasons I don't like what they're doing. First of all, if they are affiliated with and share my personal information with Savingstar, they should tell me that in advance. It creeps me out that they're trading info about us behind our backs and without permission.

Secondly, just because I elect an item on S* doesn't necessarily make me a clairvoyant who can predict the future.

How am I supposed to know that CO51 is going to have a rebate on Puffs in another week for one week when I see it offered on S*? Frankly, S* is quite restrictive about the stores you can use, while CO51 is much more liberal usually. Given an option, I'd prefer the more liberal choice. Problem is I don't get to make that choice. Having activated the offer on S*, I see the item listed as "Claimed Limit" on CO51 when I haven't bought the item anywhere, let alone used a coupon or claimed a rebate. That's pretty punitive as well as invasive re my privacy. I'm not keen on having to take evasive maneuvers re changing e-mail addresses just to avoid unreasonable restrictions.

I've been pretty busy with work so I haven't really shopped much lately, but these sorts of shenanigans give me pause. If the aim is to attract more shoppers, this surely ain't working with me.
