Default using rain checks @ cvs

i took advantage of the black friday 3 day sale by getting rain checks on items they did not have. i used one today on the degree deodorant. the rain check was for $4 deo with 4 ecb back. well she said they wrote the regular price wrong (it was $4.79 instead of $4 what they put) and so they price modified it to $.79? i then used a $1.25 coupon which was adjusted to the .79 total. this kinda of bugged me because i wasn't able to get $1.25 overage (after the ecb), because i wasn't given an ecb. i didn't argue though (it was still free) because she did a courtesy by pushing from my $5/15 that had expired yesterday (i could have sworn today was the 3rd oops!). is this usually how rain checks work? they price modify rather than actually giving you the ecb? i'm wondering because today i got another rain check for the acu check meter. i'm worried about the rain check because she didn't write the event code. i don't think i'm having good luck with rain checks

p.s. did i totally confuse you?

what on EARTH, that was totally wrong. the price WAS $4 with $4 ECB back. they should have adjusted the product to $4, then let you use your coupon and then manually printed your $4 ECB back.

price modifying is how they USED to do it, they are not supposed to do that anymore. grrrrr

you can look up the event code on add flyer scan here CVS TG and Black Friday sales - Google Docs

good to know. i'm now scared to use rain checks but next time i'll be firmer with them. i figured what they did was all backwards but since she pushed the 5/15 i just let the $1.25 go haha.
