Vistaprint has been recommended by many. However, my experience has not been so great. Their products are okay, and they run great specials. But after placing numerous orders for Christmas during their great sales, I noticed a lot of strange charges on my bank account, all for $2. These were "International Transaction Charges."
I called the bank, and this is because Vistaprint processes their payments outside of the US. Vistaprint has a US call center and shipping facility but are not US based, hence the fees. So every time I placed an order, I was charged a transaction fee for shopping outside of the US. $2.00 doesn't sound like a lot, but once you consider I placed 9 orders, I am out $18.00 more than I planned. I googled it and found hundreds of complaints. And, this:

Online Printing Causes Numerous Hassles
With more than 260 complaints filed with the BBB, Vista Print USA, Inc. of Lexington, Mass is one of the BBB top ten most complained about companies. Vista Print provides design and print services over the internet, which might sound convinient (as their website claims), but 260 consumers report otherwise. Many complaints allege that the company shipped inaccurate and incorrect items to consumers.

Though the company website states that the average wait on their toll free line is thirty seconds, dozens of consumers reported significant troubles reaching customer service. The BBB also received reports that Vista Print placed unauthorized charges on consumerss credit cards. Vista Print USA, Inc. has an unsatisfactory report with the BBB for no response to complaints and a pattern of complaints.


I don't want to dissuade anyone from shopping where you want to, but just keep an eye out for possible extra fees you may not have expected. I wouldn't be so upset, but I contacted Vistaprint, they said they would reimburse the fees if I faxed a copy of my bank statement, and I have yet to hear back from them 3 weeks later! Definitely something to consider before shopping.

I used to sell on etsy. And tons of people used vistaprint for their "free" business cards. Only mysterious charges would pop up on credit card bills all the time. I steer clear of that company and their "free" items. They are dishonest and underhanded in their practices.

It can also depend on your bank, not all charge an international fee if you shop outside the US. But, I have read tons of complaints. As I said, lots of people have good experiences. But, mine has not been all that great.

They have great deals, I just wish they would fix the billing issues

luckly my bank is a small one only in this area and they call you and ask you bout charges done on the internet before they allow payment so in a way thats a plus ive never had any charges from vistaprint just them spamming my inbox with offers to buy more stuff from them

Problem with giving foreign entities your credit/debit card information is, if they charge extra or even make false charges, they are out of the jurisdiction of U.S. law enforcement.

I got business cards made up for DH in aug 2010. When I didn't get them in two weeks they shipped another box, no questions asked. That box showed up a week later. The next day the first box arrived in a USPS envelope. Apparently some postal machine ate the box. But they did deliver me the confetti that was left!!

I had no extra charges and I was still with Wells Fargo then. Those folks have a fee for looking at them wrong...

I did not have any problems. Maybe it was just your bank. My bank allows international charges with no extra fees. I have used credit cards and my debit card in other countries with no problems or extra fees. I did notice the last time I cruised, that if you wanted cash from the atm there were international charges involved because there was a sign posted on the machine.
