I bought a queen sized quilted bedspread to put on my kingsized bed because I wanted the spread to hang a little lower, but still wanted to see my bed ruffle. The kingsized quilts are too short on the side for me. My hubby moves too much and ends up pulling the quilt off. ![]() |

I bought a Queen size quilt set from JCpenny a few years ago and the quilt is too small for our Queen size bed
...I like mine to hang at least to the dust ruffle and this one doesn't, but i love the colors and we just deal with it..but if it were me and i were looking for another..i would not buy a set again..i would purchase the qiult seperate from the other bedding and go for a larger quilt..This is just from my experience..or i would buy a quilted bedspread with the dust ruffle attached..previously, I had bought 1 of those from pennys and it fit my bed perfect.. |

There are a lot of quilters in my family. Depending on the size and the type of fabric, you'd be lucky to get by even getting the fabric for a queen or king quilt under $75 to a hundy. Maybe cheaper if you got a great deal on a flat sheet to use for the back.
For a queen bed I always get a king quilt made. The ones in stores that say they're full/queen never are long enough for me to drape right on the sides for a queen. My sister is making a king for me right now in varying green/red/blue plaids with solids for borders. She sews the whole top, and then she and a few friends went together to buy one of those neat machines that does the quilting. I can't wait to see that one! If you want to spend less and get new, you'll probably have to go with the ones at Penney's or Brylane. Will it last for decades like a good homemade quilt does when it's made well? Probably not, but whatever you choose I'm sure your Mom will love it just because it came from you! ![]() |

i went to the website and the way that quilt is made I do not think a king would look bad on a queen. I like a bigger comforter too, and since the borders on the angel quilt are not meant to sit on the lines of the mattress, it should be just fine.
