We are going to be in Disney World for 5 days this summer, and I pan on not paying for any food--AT ALL! I want to bring my crock pot to make dinners in while we are at the parks. Has anyone ever done this successfully? I am just afraid that they will tell me that I can't do that when I get there. Also, if you have any lunch ideas for me that bare toddler-friendly that I could take in the parks with me I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

If you stay in an extended stay hotel you can use the kitchen so a crook pot would be no problem. We once stayed in a ES place and it really saves a lot of $$$. Probably close to $200/$300 a week in food savings.
We buy vacation food, like melons and more special foods and we still save $$$ and have a great time. A condo got us hooked. We only went to condo's after our first one |

Depending on what type of place you are staying, you may have problems with the crockpot plan. I would call to make sure they will allow this before the trip. Good luck and have a great trip.

regarding not spending any $$ on food, I hope you can resist the urge to buy those Mouse popsicles and drumsticks inside the park. It's hard to resist them in the summer when everyone is eating them
![]() and since it rains there even in summer, make sure to buy your ponchos outside @ 2/$1 or else you'll pay high price for the ones with the mouse/ears on it ![]() |

We just came back from Disney with my now 3 year old and it was expensive (the food) at the park, but I couldn't resist the Dole pineapple ice cream with delicious pineapple juice or the ice cream shop or the bakery next to the ice cream shop lol It was worth it, but next year I plan on staying at an Extended Stay and stocking the fridge with food and limiting the snacks at Disney it was hard though. And those Turkey legs were yummy and don't forget the Mouse popsicles the kids will cry for them. lol

The hotel may not let you do the crock pot because of fire hazards unless you stay at a hotel with a kitchenette. Then it should be ok.
My purse is always filled with goldfish and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Lol. The best idea is the frozen one's throw a couple in your purse before heading to the park. They will thaw as you go. Put lots of snack like items also. That way you won't be tempted but do allow yourself a treat at one of the parks. It is just kind of hard doing no eating out at all. Maybe take lunch but allow desert to be purchased as a treat. ![]() WUC Moderator

I am Going to Disney with 15 family members. We have condo rentals in Kissimmee and yes we are bringing crockpots, canned goods and staples, kitchen equipment. The young adults are also going deep sea fishing... not me, being in a boat in the middle of nowhere is not my cup of tea.
2 reasons: if something happens to the boat 1. Sharks 2. I can't swim plus You can't drink that much water! We pack lots of water bottles, crystal lite and koolaid tubes, cracker packs and granola bars. We try not to drink sodas or coffee and push the water koolaid fliuds instead. I go to dollar tree and stock up on kitchen items and snacks. Also, disposable plates, cups, etc. handy to have on hand. And don't do what we did... did not bring a serving spoon or spoon rest for the crockpot! If you got to Downtown Disney, parking is free, no admission fee, abd you can ride the water taxi boats across the lake for free! Have fun on your trip! ![]() Lucky 2 B A Wuckie! |
