MrCoupon – Nathan Engels - My Bio Lots of you are probably very curious about my background…where I come from etc…so I’m going to give you a little about me, and some little known facts, most of which are simply found by googling my name which is found in the TV News Segments !!I was born in 1982, which makes me around 27 but who’s counting!! I was a military brat; my dad was in the marines and air national guard. We moved all over, but mainly were in Kansas. In 1993, we moved to the metro Cincinnati area where I attended and graduated from Highlands High school. In 2000 I began studying at Campbellsville University were I meet my wife Lacy. I studied biology and minored in Spanish. From 2000-2006 I spent a total of only 3 years in the United States. I studied for 9 months in Guatemala (more on this later) and also studied 5 months in London, England. While in London I had the opportunity to travel throughout Europe and Russia (on the cheap mind you ). Guatemala holds a very special place in my heart! In 2002 I started a Spanish Immersion school primarily for missionaries. Now this sounds really impressive…trust me it’s not!!! I was learning Spanish and really fell in love with the city of Antigua. I was going to a local church and a wonderful woman named Keni wanted to start an immersion school. I was working full time for my parents making maps in my spare time, so I had a little money to help! We started the school and it blossomed!! I eventually gave the school to Keni as a gift. She sold the school in 2009 (just this year) to a wonderful guy in Texas. I still travel to Guatemala, and can’t wait to return. Lacy and I honeymooned there at an amazing little hotel called La Casa del Mundo. (If you ever go, let me know this hotel is fantastic!!) I am well spoken in Spanish if you’re curious. I do a little translating here and there, but nothing really worth mentioning. I can’t tell you what the words for doorknob or alternators are, but if you want to talk politics I’m your guy!! After Lacy and I got married in 2007, we realized that we had way too much debt, and started couponing aggressively. We started WUC in July of 2008 mainly because I wanted to be able to post about my crazy coupon adventures. Yes I’m one of those nutty people!! I never would have imagined what it is today!! Anyways, that’s pretty much my life. I attend a small wonderful church called the Campbell County Vineyard. I’m relatively boring, as my wife says. But enjoy this site so much!!! Nathan, what a fascinating and well rounded life you've had!!! So interesting!!! I love that you not only started a school, but gave it to your friend, Keni, before leaving Guatemala! Think of all the lives you've touched thus far. Then, and now through the work you do with the forum. It really is incredible and says a lot about you
![]() btw, my youngest son is studying to become a nurse. He's planning to travel bi-annually to Guatemala with his uncle who flies there to help with medical procedures for the underpriviledged! I might have to have him hit you up and pick your brain when he finally gets to go! ![]() |

DH is an 82er too. Although I am an 83er. A littl while ago there was a survey about how old everyone was. I was astoished to find that most of us are young. I think it is wonderfu that we are this young and taking conrol of our finances. I love those of you that are young at heart too regardless of the years!

What a nice life you have had. I had to chuckle at the 1982 birth date, since that was the year I graduated HS.
