Default Is it worth it

.99 for a bag of My essentials cereal? It only has like 7 servings in it so if my 15 yr old gets ahold of it when Im asleep maybe would last 1 day. Would last all week if I ration it out to my 10 yr old and hide it from her so it doesnt become an after school snake.Tia for any advice

Default well...

To me I don't go by the serving sizes on containers to much, I think they often down size the them so we think we are getting more serving from a package?? She could be eating a lot worse stuff than cereal??

I now that I'm a coupon shopperaholic, but I guess that's OK

I would compare the ounces to the ounces in other cereals you get and see if it is good for you. We go through probably a box of cereal a day. But I have a kid who eats tons and never gains weight too.

I agree. When picking 2 of the same items, I go by ounces and divide it by the price. The malt-o-meal has bigger bags and might be cheaper by the ounce. 7 servings for $1 sounds good to me though, even $1 snack for your 15 yo sounds good.

I have the twin of that kid - he can go (and does on weekends) through a box of cereal and a quart of milk in a day. It's not the ideal diet, but he is 14, 5'9" and very healthy. He does eat other things, but cereal is it's own food group to him.

My stock up price for cereal is $1.25 and I refuse to pay more than $2 a box - even if I'm out. Then, I'll buy a generic Rice Krispies!! I NEVER go by servings as they are ridiculous - it's just to make the federal gov't feel good about requiring them.
