Do you sell store brand items at yard/garage sales? I cannot decide if I should sell some of the Food Lion brand items I have or not. We live in a small town, only 2 Food Lions and I guess I am worried someone would take stuff back to the store and the store would know it was me that got that much there since I am the only one in town that buys in bulk from them.

Please let me know your thoughts!

That is a good point, though. I had never thought about people trying to return what they buy at garage sales! That would be pretty low!

I sold some stuff at my last garage sale(it sold like crazy!). I wondered about someone trying to return stuff too. I took off the price stickers and put a black permenant marker line over the bar code...not sure if that would stop anyone from returning it, but I thought it might raise a red flag at the store if someone tried.

I'd just run a sharpie through the UPC.

I sold stuff from Food Lion and Meijers at one of my yard sales and it sold like crazy. Agree with the sharpie idea. Draw a line through the bar code or an X.

thats what I do with ALL the new items I sell at yardsales. I also worried about someone buying a ton of stuff and trying to return to the stores....

I sold store brand items at my stockpile sale.

It never even crossed my mind that people could/would return the items for cash. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. At my next stockpile sale, I will do the sharpie trick.
