Getting ready for yardsale this weekend
As many of you know, I am new to TX. New to Wichita Falls. I came here from Goldsboro NC (eastern NC). I had a nice customer base set up there for my monthly garage sales. I was doing VERY well making $800 + at each sale. I am a little nervous about this sale b/c I feel as if I am starting over. I dont know how the pricing of "regular" (used clothing/household/toys) goes. My stockpile: my DH said just price like I did in NC and see how it goes. I know every sale there, I almost sold out of stockpile at EVERY sale.
I have only been here 2 months so the stockpile is not overly big. I think I will be happy with $500. Very happy. It will help our pockets a bit. I have a ton of (like 30-50 each) Rolaids, vivarin, vitamins, kotex, sally hansen nail polish, air wick i motions, schick quattro razors, schick blades, lightbulbs, schick travel size razors, reach gloss, K-Y (this NEVER sells well LOLLOL), ponds face cleaning wipes, bic soilel razors. Oh and about $120 worth of 75-90% off Target clearance toys(which is ALOT). We also have extra stuff that we brought with us from NC that we dont need. I think you will do great, I have been debating having a yardsale but it seems to be raining every weekend that I have free. I do not have much of a stockpile because we don't have room to store it, but I do have more than I can use of some things and also have a lot of kids clothes so that is what I will sell.
I think your pricing will be ok so long as it is lower than what you would pay at WalMart. Good Luck and let us know how it goes! Amber

Oh I forgot, did you advertise, I usually post on Craigslist when I have my yardsales.

WOW. I am exahusted. 2 days of yardsales wore me out. I was out there alone selling too. DH usually helped me at our sales but he had kid duty so he could not help at all.
I did make almost $1000. So proud of myself as I have only been here 2 1/2 months in TX and have not stockpiled that much. I did have a few high dollar items as far as stockpiles go: schick quattro womens razors: $3 each, bic soilel 2.50, schick quattro titanium with electric trimmer for $4 each, air wick i-motion: $4 the first day and marked them to $3 the next. what sold the best was: toothbrushes/toothpaste $1, vitamins $1, playtex gloves $0.50, lightbulbs $0.50, nail polish $1, reach dental floss $0.50, rolaids 3 pk $1, johnson buddy bars $0.50, wostershire sauce 1.00, a-1 marinate $0.50, kotex pads/liners/tampons $0.50. I wish I would of had more stockpile stuff to sell since that always sells the best. I have not had the time to put into going to the stores though. It seems like since we have moved to TX, that my DH and 3 of my kids have been non stop sick. It is also hard to take my two year old twins out to shop. They HATE shopping right now. But, I am so so proud of myself. I gave out a bunch of weusecoupons.com business cards. hopefully they will come on here and check it out.

WOW!!! That's awesome!!! I know what you mean about 2 year old twins not wanting to shop! I struggle with the shopping aspect all the time, and I know my stockpile would be much grander if I didn't need a good night's sleep, and could shop at night, when hubby and the kids were tucked in bed!=)
