Hi! I am a new here and keep hearing how much you can save with coupons. Sounds intresting and I have too much free time on my hands anyway but I dont know if its going to be worth it in the long run for me.
Here is the deal; I know it will be useful for nonfood items, the kind of stuff everyone needs but I am not sure if i can save on food items. It just me and my boyfriend and we are getting into clean eating so all I buy really is meat and veggies. I do have to get yougurt, spices and some bread on occasion. I am just wondering how do you find deals on the veggies and meat? Maybe its just bc I am a newb but most of the coupons i see are for processed foods that I am not intrested in buying. ![]() Also is there a good starter thread to point me in the right direction? This is a little overwhelming with all the threads. Thanks! |

There are deals on everything.
I get free (or almost free) milk, meat, pasta, yogurt, AND vegetables. It takes a commitment to really get started, but once you do the skills will carry the rest of your life. Can you not use free toothpaste, razors, shampoo and deoderant? If you can, then go to the Walgreens and/or CVS forums and learn how to get these things free so you have MORE money to spend on the meat, yogurt and veggies. HTH! MOST OF ALL ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS. There are SO many wonderful users here that will be MORE than happy to help you! Good luck! |

Hi and welcome.
My reasoning is the following: if I dont have to spend the money on non-food items and every now and then use the coupons for produce or meat, I'm spending the money on the fruit and veggies, milk, eggs and meat. I sometimes buy the processed food, in order to get the discount on the fresh food, pay pennies on the dollar and then donate it to the food pantry or the shelters. So, still getting the discount on the fresh stuff. Kroger Forum Leader, Ingles Forum Leader and Database Diva Those who say money doesn't buy happiness, dont know how to shop! |

Ive ran across a few mail in rebates on fruits and veggies, or the coupons where you get so much off of produce if you buy this or that.

If you have a food lion near you, I always get cheap or free veggies and meat. You can get free (or near free) bread.

Being Frugal is what it's all about for me. You wouldn't believe the deals I find on Salad Dressing that can be turned into Free Meat!!! I don't care about the salad dressing, so it gets donated or sold at my garage sale.....and I freeze the free meat.
The fun thing is that every single week is different!!! So it doesn't get boring!!! |

I can understand the question, Im on a Celiac diet and there are no deals on that stuff(no really not kidding) but Ive found if I save money on, cleaners, paper products, beauty supplies, personal needs items and more, I have a whole lot more money for the foods I need and maybe some to have a little fun with
Hubby and I are trying for our 2nd and we are stockign up on baby supplies too that would cost an arm and a leg if you went out and bought every little thing you needed not on sale. Plus if you look at enough posts you will see how to save on clothes and other requirements. Ive seen wonderful things with Kohls and old navy coupons, JCpenny sales and more. GL |

First
to WUCApple has led you in the correct direction to the organic foods section. You should be able to find things to help you. Yes, you can save a lot of money using coupons. Look at the right side of each users post. You will see their year to date savings. Some of the amounts will blow you away. Again, welcome to WUC.
