Not sure the best place for you to store gas if you are in an apartment. If you are married/have a boyfriend, maybe planning to put it into the other car right away. If you are on the bottom apartment maybe on the back porch. I am not sure how the apartment would feel about you storing gas.
We keep ours in the garage. We live on top of a mountain and even when it gets really hot here, it really isn't that hot on top of the mountain. We also try to use our stored gas rather quickly. Like the stuff I have in cans from yesterday, will be put into my car next week and then I will do it again. |

I don't need any of the cleaners since I already have a decent stockpile on them. But I DO need tuna fish so I'm getting all tuna and no coupons needed. I got my hubby on board and we both can't believe we didn't do this sooner.
Thanks everyone for all your help! |

I'll definitely let you know. I just special ordered them and he thinks they'll be there tomorrow. How long do you need to wait to use your gas points?

Ahhh! I had over 1200 gas points from the Hormel Compleats deal, it has only been three days, and my points are GONE! Has this happened to anyone before...? Can I call giant? Think they'll help me?

Below are some pointers and we have been paying $1-$1.50/per gallon after 2200 gas points or $2.20/per gallon for the last year or so--
1. Pre-plan your gas savings and weigh whether it is cheaper to buy the items vs. filling up on a regular tank. 2. If you live in Metro DC/MD and N VA areas and shop at Giant Food stores, Giant accepts Competitor Coupons (CQs). So plan your transactions where your cashier scans all your items FIRST, use your CQ(s), then your MQ(s) to double up to $.99, and LAST--scan your Giant Food shopping card. Your gas points will still be amount credited for the amount BEFORE all your discounts (i.e. $60.00 BEFORE ALL deals, etc. will be 60 gas points). 3. Plan how many items to buy to do your deals with coupons or On Your Next Order, $/$$ Competitor Coupons, etc. 4. Don't forget to use all your fuel points BEFORE 30 days since the points will expire. Leftover points will remain on your card for 30 days if OVER 2200 points--use or lose points asap. 5. Also, Customer Service (per Giant's (800) number) says that you and spouse can have SEPARATE cards and the cards ARE NOT LINKED like Harris Teeter's card. Since I shop and do the deals, I load up on both my DH's card and my card. Double check with Customer Service main office (800) number. 6. I also print out each Giant shopping card record and keep a copy in our cars and with us to see how many points we have. Also, if you are missing points, etc., go to local CS Desk or call Customer Service for Giant/Stop & Shop for assistance. 7. Read my thread under "Giant Food" forum called "Competitor Coupons..." for details on CQ(s), etc. 8. Any items you buy for just the gas points and don't use, donate the items and save your receipts for tax purposes. We had a $1000 tax credit for just the Giant food bank donations that I did. Hope this helps-- Foodie (Katie) ![]() |
