So does Harris Teeter seem daunting to you? All these crazy coupon rules and busy sales? It's really quite simple, I know if you read through this thread and read all the great posts on the boards, EVERYONE can be a Harris Teeter expert!!

First of all, let's talk about VIC cards!
A VIC card is the card that allows you to take advantage of all the great deals at Harris Teeter. And the best is, they're FREE!!! You can do this one of two ways:
1.) fill out the application in store(they're located at the Customer Service Desk). Please remember if you're doing this in store, please take your drivers license with you because they will ask to verify your information!
or
2.) online at this link.

Each VIC card comes as a family sized package, with one large card and two smaller keyring cards for other members of your household.

If you already have a VIC card and need to update your info, you can do that one of three ways, it can be done in person at the Customer Service Desk, online at this link or over the phone with customer service at 1-800-432-6111.(select option three)


Also let me please issue this warning concerning more than one VIC card usage by one household(taken directly from ncsouthernbelle's post):
"Other sites have been promoting / allowing discussion regarding the use of multiple VIC cards per person to allow multiple shopping trips at Harris Teeter per day, which is of course against their policy:

Now that we've mastered the VIC card let's get down to the nitty gritty....coupons!
Every store has their own set policy regarding coupons and Harris Teeter is no different. You can read and I recommend printing a copy of the Harris Teeter Coupon Policy, which is found here. Please remember the 20 coupon limit is for all coupons that will double(or triple, depending on the event). Any coupons that will not double should be given last as they will count against your 20 doubling limit! I personally always hold onto those and then pass them to my cashier after they've scanned my first 20! And please remember, NO coupon with a barcode beginning with a 9 will double! Also most blinkies found at Harris Teeter start with a 9 and therefore will NOT double!

There are lots of great ways to save money at Harris Teeter, let's go more indepth with them all!

There are two coupon events which have been sweeping all of us couponers off our feet lately, these are:

Triples:
This an event where all coupons, 0.99 FACE value and below will triple, though the total amount tripled WILL NOT exceed the total item value. This event still has the same rules as the normal coupon policy states, no more than 20 coupons will triple, so hold onto all those that you don't intend for tripling to maximize your savings!

Super Doubles:
This event also plays into getting more bang for your buck by doubling all eligible coupons up to 1.99 FACE value, of course not exceeding the total cost of the item! Again, make sure you give the cashier the first 20 you want doubled before handing them any other coupons you may want to use to maximize your savings!

Both triples and super doubles sales DO NOT start at midnight for 24 hour stores, they start at 7am. Please call ahead to confirm if your store is not a 24 hour store as YMMV on starting times! Of course, ALWAYS ALWAYS call to confirm your store is participating before you make a trip, because nothing is more disappointing than to plan, clip, and prepare and find out it was a wasted effort.


There are even more programs, most of these tied to your VIC card, so here's more ways to use that free card to save your family money!

1.) E-VIC: once you have your card in hand, go to Harris Teeter's website and click on e-vic under this link. Once on this page, click Join Now! and fill out the simple form to receive tons of great benefits, from the local ad in your email to other specials such as the E-VIC special. The E-VIC special changes weekly and is often something you can combine with a coupon for a better deal! You can also swing by the Harris Teeter forum for a posting of the e-VIC deal of the week from ncsouthernbelle or myself!

There's also the Fresh Catch Club!, which is also a FREE service from Harris Teeter, but you must sign up for it SEPERATELY, so please fill out the info form found at the above link!
This program rewards customers with a $5 electronic coupon with every $35 in Fresh Catch items they purchase! This program is ongoing through 12-29-2009!

Want to help your school? Let Harris Teeter help you there also! Let me tell you about as best I can by simply quoting from their website,

"Harris Teeter’s Together In Education program is a fund raising program for schools (public or private- preschool through 12th grade) in our communities. When customers purchase select Harris Teeter Brand products using their VIC card, Harris Teeter contributes a percentage of those purchase dollars to the schools of their choice. Schools use the money as they see fit on anything from basic supplies to band equipment or computers."
