So, yesterday I was working (as a cashier at HEB) and this lady ran up to me frantic and worried. I got scared instantly, did someone fall? Did someone steal from her? Then comes her boyfriend looking embarrassed and nervous with the cart. She grabs a red basket from the cart and puts it on the belt in one fast ninja like motion. I am so surprised, I can barely hide the look of amusement I have on my face. She then thrusts about 5 packs of Trident gum in my face and shrieks, "HOW MUCH ARE THESE?!?! THEY ARE IN CLEARANCE BUT THEY ARE MARKED FOR THE REGULAR PRICE! I NEED TO KNOW NOW. SCAN THEM!" I know it doesn't sound intimidating but I was slightly shaking as I took one from her and scanned it. Now, these gums had been in clearance for about 3 weeks now. However, they were marked at 1.06 and 1.36 which is the REGULAR price. DBF and I had laughed at them once as we passed thinking how silly to clearance something at the regular price. Ah well, so they rang up as .63 and .58 when I scanned them for her. She was THRILLED! She says, "I'll take them all!" and starts to count out the gum in 3's.

Her BF is shaking his head and arguing with her, "Do we need 1,000 (exaggeration) gums?" She is not listening as she is counting. I say, "You have the 2.00 off any 3 single packs coupon don't you?" She nods and exclaims loudly, "YES! I am A CRAZY COUPONER AND I GET TONS OF DEALS FOR CHEAP OR FREE!" I wanted to ask if she was advertising herself because she literally made it so at least 10 lanes could hear her. Then a lady comes up behind her with 1 item and she shakes her head and tells the lady she should find another line cause she has a lot of coupons. First of all, dramatic much? She only was gonna use 25 and I am not THAT slow! The lady decided to stay. She stood behind the couponers bf as he continued to shake his head and then apologized to me for her being "Insane" to quote him.

So, she decided to use 25 of her coupons because she had 75 gums (one left over to go back in clearance) So, I scanned her gums and her cookies and she is boasting the whole time about how she is such a good person because she is using her coupon overage to buy cookies for the PTA etc etc etc... I am just scanning away because honestly, I wanted her gone. It was fine that she had so many coupons and items, I've seen worse, but she was so annoying because she kept bragging about herself. "I'm so generous using MY couponing skills to help the PTA buy cookies!" Uh really? "I'm a CRAZY couponing lady I know! It's insane but I save so much money!" Okay, I get the point...Crazy....saving...yes.

Anywho, she left paying about 10 bucks for 20 things of cookies and 75 Trident gums and to that, I applaud her. It was pretty awesome! I felt like I was on that show.

Anywho, after work, I grabbed the last 3 Trident gums in the clearance to use mine and DBFs last Trident coupon. 16 of the Vicks cough drops 20 ct, 3 Simply Orange juices with Mango and a bag of HEB Baked chips. DBF and I separated to go into different lines to pay and we paid less than 1.50 for all of this combined because of the Vicks $3/2 coupon and the $2/3 Trident. It was overall an interesting and awesome couponing day and not just for me...for the CRAZY coupon lady too...

really funny story,bytheway I din't know HEB gives overage bc you know I hardly got to HEB bc they don't take IPS right now HEB has $5/5 hot poket and there is $1/2 IPS so i will go to walmart and match the price and use the coupons

I always use IPs at HEB - never had an issue. It says in their policy that they take them.
