JCPenney is a sinking ship. The article wasn't very positive about the shift. Personally, I haven't shopped there in over a year. I used to shop at least eight times a year previous. Now I go to Kohl's.

My favorite was the comment about Ron Johnson and his success at Apple - how could anyone be unsuccessful at selling Apple products direct? Better to be lucky than good...

and I totally agree! He drove it into the ground and I don't think this is going to be a Phoenix that swoops back up. RIP JCP. :-(

I had to giggle about that part that people expect friendly service at WM though! *snicker*

I highly doubt you'll give this a second thought, but I just wanted to let you know people saying things like this is hurtful. Please know that some of us depend on this company to pay our bills and while you might be excited to "get a deal", it would thrust me into unemployment with limited options in my city at the moment. And while we are working to better our situation and plan to be moved in a little over a year the simple fact that people are excited for me to lose my job bothers me.

The amount of people who depend on this company for their income....no one should ever be excited for that many people to be out of work in this economy.

I'm probably opening myself up for some humiliation for even saying anything, but I felt like I needed to if anything just for me.

You are right, my comment is not directed that way, but rather due to frustration with CEO's. I should have specified.

Their irresponsible behavior is a danger to many livelihoods, that is part of the frustration. (for instance, the manufacture of 8 million buttons, even at a half a penny each, that is 4 million, they couldn't have included a code on the receipt instead? That is money better spent elsewhere. Then to change a system that has kept JCP in business for so long so radically, in a direction other than what the consumer want's.)

Shameful. I used to get ALL my clothes from JCP, I guess I am still sore that they changed the deal so to speak. Sorry that I offended you!

Thank you.

The employees aren't enjoying some of the changes any better, they'll make decisions and then change them in less then a month causing a lot of stress on our end.

I think some of the issues are they're not really explaining what they're doing right either. Like, a lot of people are upset that SJB is gone, but...its not! SJB is JCP. They owned it and they just relabeled it and called it something else. Although, at this point I'm not even sure if they're still doing that. I work in the men's department and I just got new SJB stuff in.

I miss the sales at JCP and the organization of my location. I feel so overwhelmed when I go in. I haven't shipped there much since the switch. I'll have to give it a try.

I just redeemed a $10off 10 purchase on a $20 pair of jeans before it expired at the end of January. Then I rec'd another $10 off 10 reward in the mail to use b4 the end of Feb. Then just this past week I rec'd $10 off 10 postcard to be used between Feb 4th-18th. I guess I will be there next week shopping. JCP has been my favorite clothing store. Just haven't been much lately so I am surprised to rec'd these.
