Well I really did it tonight. I made a complete turd out of myself, and I am so embarrassed about it now.
I know there are those mothers out there that are like me. I freak if Gavin gets his good clothes dirty. Well I have been yard sale-ing all weekend long buying him "new" clothes and I hit the mother-load to say the least. I am huge on reusing, so it is important for me to buy used. Ok, so I found the CUTEST pair of khaki cargo pants at one of these yard sales. It has been extremely hard for me to find a pair I like, and I always like to have at least 1 pair Gavin can wear out and to church. Well tonight was my BIL's wedding reception. They had it at their house since it was a low key wedding last weekend. I brought Gavin in the clothes he had been wearing today which was my favorite "new" khaki's and a "new" osh-kosh shirt. He started playing with the other kids and I wasn't keeping a good eye on him, next thing I know he is on one of their rail-road ties,(not by train tracks, they were using them to hold their gravel in their driveway and he was 10 feet away) and he is laying belly down. I run and pick him up and he has creasode all over the front of him. I am talking all over the pants shirt and face. I started freaking out. I made a real turd out of myself, in front of a decent sized crowd and now I am incredibly embarrassed. I even had people making fun of me. So please tell me I am not the only one who freaks over good clothes. ![]() Kohl's Forum Leader |

I have nice used clothes for my little boy, and then used play clothes as well. I put him in his "grubbies" for playing outside. It just removes a whole lot of stress to know that if he gets stains, it's no big deal.

The thing is I brought play clothes for him. Too little, too late.
I know I am weird, I just don't want him looking "grubbie" all the time. I know he is a boy and boys get dirty. ![]() Kohl's Forum Leader |

I know how you feel...I remember freaking out about my oldest ruining some clothes when he was little. We were at my sister's house and it was right before company came over. I know they all thought I was silly to get so upset over dirty clothes. But I worked hard to make sure he was cute/clean and then he was a mess!
I have to say that with each child, I worry about that kind of thing less and less. I let go of a lot of that once I had my 2nd baby, and each baby after that. But, I still ALWAYS make sure they have clean clothes/hands/faces when we leave the house. They might not stay clean, but at least they started out that way! |
