Last week I had to take my son to the Emergency Room. Yup..My 9 year old was diagnosed w/H1N1..This diagnosis was only possible after many symptoms were described and 106.5 temerature was radiating from his body. I was TERRIFIED!!! Poor little guy had to go through so much...Strep test, chest x-ray, I.V, and finally a spinal tap and another trip to the Dr. office on Tuesday for check-up...Man..what a long night in the E.R.. He is ok now..well almost..

At 2:30 this afternoon, I got a call from the Dr. who was out of the office over the holidays and they informed me that my sons strep test from the E.R was positive for strep!!! Why didnt they tell me that @ the E.R??? I know the E.R was not closed for the holidays! My son was @ school all day infecting his classmates w/strep throat The Dr. was very nice and called in a prescription for amoxicillian which they said was FREE @ MEIJERS!!! I will not be able to pick up until tommorrow b/c I was @ work when they called and they told me not to send him to school tommorrow B/c he needed the antibiotics for 24 hrs. The E.R then called @ 4p.m. and told me the same thing.. they said they didnt have my # however they had it when they called at 4???

Anyhow, my holiday plans were changed, however, my son is doing well...except for the strep..but just when I thought we made it through the holidays better than expected (last minute dinner)it started again today

I know lots of us search theese forums for FREE stuff...My son gave his strep throat away for FREE @ school today (I would be willing to bet the parents wont be laughing too hard at that Freebie.) BUT... the good news is if he infected anyone elses child Meijers is giving away the antibiotic for free Maybe this isnt too funny, but the stress that I have been under this past week I have to find the humor in something

Wow. Hope y'all are all well soon. Think we'd all just rather not need antibiotics at all...
