Yesterday I got a good Halloween TREAT!!

I needed new deodorant & mascara so I got my $8/2 CG coupons cause they were expiring today.
First I thought I only had 1 but I had two!! So I quickly checked WUC before I left to see if I could swipe any other deals while I was there.

On the target website there is a coupon for $1 off NYC cosmetics
-1 NYC nail polish = $.94 (.06 overage if your store allows it)
or NYC eyeliner (black or brown) = $.99 (no overage, but free)

and then I saw the post about the Skinny Cow multipack from Thrifyshopper


Over the summer there was a banana boat deal buy 2 of the items listed get $5 gift card. Well my store added the lip balm to the deal, on accident. and I had 10 $1/1 Q's for banana boat that didn't exclude lip balms. The lip balms were on sale & included in the deal for $1.79 each!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I sat there for like literally 30 mins triple & quadruple checking that I was looking at all this right. cause even without a coupon it was a MM! So I got 2 and used 2 $1/1 and paid $1.58 & got a $5 gift card making it a $3.42 MM!
Well I had 18 more of those $1/1. So I took the whole stock of 20 lip balms! When I went to the checkout my $5 gift card wasn't ringing up. The cashier was trying to say it wasn't part of the deal. So I went back and got the sign that said it WAS! So they HAD to give it to me because the sign advertised it in the deal. Wellllll needless to say, I was at the checkout for AN HOUR while they figured out how to give me the $5 & the manager was NOT happy lol. and told me about 10 times how they are NOT putting the sign back up & it wasn't suppose to be part of the deal, I shouldn't be getting the $5 gift card! (sorry, you messed up. Should be more careful next time!!)

So I walked out with 20 lip balms & $34.20 left over in GC's, WITHOUT PAYING A PENNY!!!!!!!!
(I just want to add, I kept 6 lip balms for myself & husband, and gave 7 to my mom & her family & 7 to various friends. Sharing is caring lol.)


So ever since that, the manager HATES me lol. From the moment I walk into the store he is & staring me down.

So yesterday I had 2 $8/2 CQ & 1 $1/1 CG TQ from Beauty Bag, 4 (I have 2 comps) $1/1 NYC TQ's, & 1 Sknny cow $1/1 MQ & $1.75/1 skinny cow TQ

I got 1 mascara $5.99
2 eye shadows $3.33/e
1 eye shadow brush $2.80
Total:$15.45 $1.55 overage after MQ & TQ

1 trial size Secret clinical strength deodorant (no Q) - $2.50

1 Skinny Cow multipack $3.33
used $1/1 MQ & $1.75/1 TQ making it $0.58

4 NYC nail polishes - $0.94/e
Total: $3.76 & used $1/1 TQ making it free ($0.24 overage)

Well at checkout everything rang up fine (I even got my CQ overage) until it came to the NYC coupons & they beeped. Well WHAT DO YOU KNOW, the manager that hates me was "walking by" (as he always does when I have Q's) and was like "is there a problem?" and the cashier showed him my Q's & what I got. After scrutinizing the coupon he was like its only ONE per transaction. (oops I missed that) So I was like thats fine, I don't mind doing separate transactions. He was like well its for $1 off and its $0.94 so we can't give you 6 cents back. I was like thats ok, can you just adjust it down for me? Hes like yes thats what we are doing. (rolling his eyes & mad at this point) so I did my separate transactions & left.

But I got my deals anyways and CQ overage

My total before Q's and including tax was $27.52, I paid $2.10!!!!!
Not a bad trip for just needing mascara and deodorant!

At my target, for about a week now, if their store coupons (the printable ones) give me overage alone...the register automatically adjusts it down, instantly. I don't mind, I can see them adjusting a store coupon down.

I don't understand the reasoning behind adjusting a manufacturer coupon down though, can anyone explain it to me?

Example 1$/1 Item A (manufacturer coupon). Item A is on clearance for 50 cents. They adjust coupon down to 50 cents, but turn it in and still get a dollar...what am I missing, why doesn't this make sense to me?

I was just looking at the NYC cosmetic coupon and it says it excludes travle/trial size....do they even make travel/trial size makeup?

Lindsey2003- lol No, I don't think they even do! I think they just put excludes trial size on ALL target coupons....just in case!

Nice trip. I hate how the target coupon now says one per transaction. Now to use them all I have to got there a few times. They won't do a bunch of transactions.

Couponing at Target is horrible now. But I love using a target coupon and a manufacturer coupon together.

Im wondering... Lets say they adjust a Manu. Q down to say $.50 from $1.00 does the Manufacture pay Target $1.00 anyway????
