It's late and time to start a new thread.
I haven't heard anything from Neciepie and she hasn't been posting, so I hope I'm not stepping on her toes. After an extremely hard December, many of us have been eagerly awaiting January. December is now said and done, it's over with, it's in the books, it's history. Before you move forward into 2013, take a moment to think back at 2012 and what this group has meant to each of us. The joy of our accomplishments, how each of us overcame visits from Murphy, how we helped motivate and inspire each other to stay focused and on track, the frugal and financial goals that you accomplished. If you didn't accomplish your goals in 2012, don't fret over it. Instead, thank about where you would be without low spend / no spend, how much better off you are financially because of our group, and the frugal ideas you learned from others. Another important factor to consider is the friends we made here and how we learned bits and pieces about each other through the year. Here we go! It's January, we get to start with a completely clean slate, new month, new year, and new frugal and financial resolutions. "Let's do it". "With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms and drought tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are you sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?" Monkeystyle, you might want to rename your thread with the date 2013.
LOL...can't understand the second posting. Learn to appreciate what you have before time makes you appreciate what you had.

I spent way too much in December and I'm starting 2013 fresh! Everything is brand new! I am thankful for this thread because I never used to look at my money much, I'd coupon and do whatever I pleased and wouldn't stress about it. Joining this thread has made me think about what I'm spending and how I'm spending it. I now know that just cause a deal is is a good deal it's not always saving me money if I don't need it! These last few months on the thread have made me aware of how I spend, and 2013 is going to focus on actually spending less. Unfortunately I have to go to the mall tomorrow to use my kohl's cash that expires.
January goals $367 in the grocery budget $350 on hba, eating out and fun. $300 in savings January is a month of no birthdays, anniversary's, party's etc, so this is totally doable! |

So glad 2013 is here! A fresh start and it is going to be a great year! I am shooting for 8 gas only spend days and 4 minor grocery spend days - fresh fruits and veg type stuff since I stocked up. Not sure what other goals - if any I am going to have. I am going to have to think about it. Happy Frugal New Years everyone!
