I mostly coupon for my hbc the items at this point and anything free i can get with doubles or cheaper with qs from grocery or dollar stores otherwise im at aldis. There are several things im giving up on buying to make myself which will save. For example.
Laundry soap. Im going to make our own which eliminates shopping sales for soap and coupons.
I got our electric bill and even tho i didnt go a whole month wit ho ut using dryer i did go almost half or more and my bill was 26$ less. April i will shoot for no dryer use.

I agree, I shop meat and produce on sale first. Then if necessary or needed, I buy what is not on sale.

Homemade instead of buying a lot of processed foods, which are full of a lot of junk, and homemade taste so much better and often times is cheaper. Price wise, can be hard to compete with some deals with coupons, especially when free or very cheap.

Great job making and doing more things yourself. You can save a lot of money doing it yourself. Take those whole pork loins that I purchased a couple of weeks back, price wise, I paid about what the cut and packaged center-cut pork chops would have cost me, and got 4 pork loin roast worth about $24~$30 to boot. All because I cut the pork loins myself; which if you have a large, sharp, good quality knife, is very easy to do.

Things that heat up cost a lot in electricity. Yes, good job aiming for no dryer use next month.

I know I can get toothpaste at WM or Target for under a dollar.

Outside of the 90% off dollar spot clearance for my charity, I rarely purchase any non-food at Target. They continue to raise prices. I find myself checking prices on their website. I find anywhere from a $1 to $9-$10 price difference from the shelf price vs online. I tripled stacked for the first time in ages with the Band Aid gauze deal. Each box was $.98. Why should I pay for a failed business in Canada? Unnecessary store remodels which will not remedy the ramifications of the retail sector collapse?

If anything, I am finding it difficult to score deals as in the past. The Old Navy outlet near my home is in a mall that has seen 8 stores close in the last 4 months. I could find .47-.97 clearance clothing. I have not found anything at that price for months. Thankfully, I stockpiled several sizes of shirts at those prices.
I totally agree with you; someone has to pay for those fancy stores, and it is the customers. I don't care if they failed at entering into a market somewhere else, they should have done their research and feasibility studies, market analysis, determined which side of the road or strip mall to be in, etc. They made the mistake, their problem. Poor planning that I don't want to pay for either. Unnecessary remodels do nothing but add cost to their product prices.
