Coins Prosperous Low Spend / No Spend_November 2017

WOW! Where did the time go? It is already November, and we're only three (3) weeks away from Thanksgiving and Black Friday kicking off the start of the Christmas season.

Hopefully, everyone that has Thanksgiving plans have already saved up the money to travel or to host and serve up a feast. If not, then it should be "had" Thanksgiving plans, meaning it is too late now to save for Thanksgiving, and you need to change your plans to staying home, buying a turkey, cranberry sauce and making stuffing and a dish or two for your immediate family; and set your mind to doing a better job on your Christmas planning.

Christmas is sneaking up on us fast. This is the month that you should be putting your last minute Christmas plans together, finishing off your Christmas shopping, and saving any last few dollars needed for your Christmas plans and-or gifts.

For newbies and lurkers: We welcome newbies and would like to have you join us for November. There are no set rules, you make and follow your own financial rules as well as set your own personal goals. This is not a competition, so don't be over zealous and too aggressive, set personal goals and budgets that you can actually accomplish, but make sure you push forward by not being too lenient or easy on yourself. In other words, make it challenging for you. Each person's circumstances are different, some of us have big families and some of us may be single or empty nesters.

Dh cell
Dh truck

Savings $50 plus an addt $100+ if possible ( I added up what we actually took from savings and it's over $5000) in probably last 3 years
Cc (Dh bought a hunting rifle last month so we will pay this off).

Looking ahead coming up
Life in quarterly payments

Dh mother has another major back surgery coming up and he will be flying down to sc fo that so we need to save for that..
I also intend on going back to

We are no longer using our dryer..I've been line drying and intend to keep doing so to cut cost..
We switched light bulbs to more efficient ones in most areas we spend most time..
Basically I'm using the food we got.. $ from wic and fs, bartering or free mkts food for our food budget
We recently made homemade Hand soap so I'm no longer purchasing hand or laundry soap and intend to switch to homemade dish soap and cleaners.

Its colder so I probably won't have anymore no drive days but I'm keeping my drive days to a minimum hopefully and planning my putting accordingly to make most of when I am out.

November goals:

Pay down $2,020 of the state tax bill (215/2020)
Save $230 for tattoo removal (50/230)
Save $1,005.00 for son’s braces (375/1005)
Save $125 for 2018 medical deductible (25/125)
Save $15 to personal savings (5/15)

I am starting with the in-need kid's wish lists for the holidays. Very expensive tastes this year.

Happy November everyone!

We have changed our travel plans thru the end of next October, scaling back our Thanksgiving trip and Xmas trip a bit to save $$ long term, we had trips paid for and were able to move those into next year, and then book a shorter trip for Thanksgiving and a different Xmas trip. Mainly the reason was because we didn't want to travel as far over Thanksgiving after spending a good chunk of September traveling from the hurricane, but in the long term it saves us $$ so that is nice too.

I just transferred the last $25 we owe from storm to savings, so yah I'm happy we are all set in case of another emergency!!

I have a lot of work to do on Christmas. I need to go thru all the toys in the gift closet and see what the kids will like from there. I should have about $275 from babysitting to put towards gifts as well. Hopefully I am done with babysitting as financially things are back to normal, we seem to be running fine on money but low on time these days and I am ready to slow things down a bit.

So my goals for November are get kids list finalized and shop, also to stockpile and coupon as much as possible because the deals are always great this time of year!

In for this month, I really need to get back on track with everything.

Goals:
10 no spend days
$50 on Black Friday for me (I want to get a Blu ray player for the house)
$500 to the car fund

Let's see if I remember how to do this!

Amy - Moderator for Auctions and Trader's World

2017 Financial Goals: 1) Fully Fund Christmas 2017 2) Top Off Savings Accounts 3) Save at least $10,000 (total) for New To Me Car Fund
