Ok, so I head to Meijer yesterday (in the next town, since the cats don't print in my town) to get some more Jello and cats. I had 24 boxes in my cart. My plan was to use the coupon for 2, PAY for one and get the cats. I think this is completely reasonable. The lady RUNS up to me at the uscan and tells me that I can only buy 4 boxes of Jello. Uh, why? She said that was what has been put in place by the SD. I asked to speak to him and explained my intentions. He told me to go ahead 'just this once'. I'm still a bit miffed. I'm using the coupon as intented AND paying for one. Sure, the profit isn't as great, but over the course of many transactions, it adds up. I did my 8 transactions and the SAME uscan lady asked if I had more coupons with me. I told her I did. She told me to just leave my stuff and go get the rest of my Jello so I could 'leave them alone for awhile'. I did, of course.

Here's what's bugging me. WHY????? Why can't I do this without a hassle? Everytime (literally) I've gone for Jello, I get a hassle and a different rule. It's really annoying me. I use $5 in gas to make the trip, pay for 16 boxes of Jello, etc. What should I do? The SD is going to be no help. I have already called corp and they confirmed that I was doing things fine. The SD claims that he has the right to limit sale items. Ok, I get that...but...the Jello isn't on sale. UGH!

I really think meijer made a mistake with that coupon......it's just to good. And I also think one arm doesn't talk to the other. Meaning that the coupon people on mealbox.com didn't talk to the ad people. And then the cat people put out a coupon on it!!! It's just a perfect storm for couponers...and a hurricane for meijer..... With that said, they should learn from this, and not attack the customers who are simply aware and alert.

This happened to me at the Florence Meijer yesterday. They told me the new limit is 6 like coupons--any kind of coupons. new rule down from corporate, though I've heard that before (it was 2 a few months ago, or so they said). Anyway, they told me it was because some were in the store the week before buying hundreds of the jello at once.

I'm all for taking advantage of a deal, and getting what you can, but it really frustrates me when some go too far and end up upsetting the store. We need our stores to be on our side. I'm the queen of the stockpile...but when we get too many items at once the stores get su****ious and wonder what we're doing....and since this was a store coupon, not one they'll get reimbursed by the manufacturer...its no wonder the stores are clamping down!

I only wanted 20-30, for my church's grocery giveaway. I wasn't even after the cats--just the free jello.

Thanks...we gave lots of our away to the church's grocery giveaway also. We do around 24 at a time....and have done it lots.

We also go in the evenings...when my favorite cashiers in florence are working. They are great with coupons!!

Yeah, I had 22 in my cart. The cashier ran over to the supervisor, who came over and I didn't buy what she was selling. So the store mgr was called. I was told, no way, no more. 6 per VISIT. I was breaking them into transactions of 2 to use them.

Oh well. I'm focusing on Target and Kroger this week anyway, so I won't be back. I have special ordered the vitamin water from my store (I can get all the free I want and not upset the store! Love it!) so I'll be enjoying a lot of extra freebies with my extra $5 bonuses!

I loved your idea about the gift cards at kroger!!! I've done that a few times...and getting rainchecks because they seem to be out of the sponges and lint rollers!

please explain how the gift card works and wouldn't the raincheck not give you back 5.00? or do that write that on the raincheck as well?
