Some people elect to send Paypal EF, and Art, (DH) who is a retired C.P.A. tallies those periodically and writes a personal check to A.C.S. for those payments.

Now - What does A.C.S. do with that money?

The donations all go toward helping ACS in accomplishing their mission - Eradicating cancer. Until they do, funds are used to make iit easier for those who have cancer to live and deal with it - Making it easier for those in the medical field to help people who have cancer - Help prevent others from getting cancer.

Have you had a mammogram or Pap Smear recently?
A.C.S. is the SECOND Highest provider of funds for the research in the U.S. that led to those two tests. (The Federal Government is the only one that superceded them in monies for cancer research in the U.S.) - So you are saying "Thank You, A.C.S." and to PRIOR donors like yourself each time you get that test, or someone you care about gets it.

ACS also helped fund the colonoscopy, PSA test and other "oscopy" and the skin cancer tests to find cancers earlier so they can be treated more successfully.

They also fund testing for new cancer drugs and treatment regimens (radiation, chemotherapy combos, biotherapy, immunotherapy)

There are support programs and loan closets for people with cancer (vary by state and community)

Some states have summer camps for children with cancer, with an M.D., an R.N. and fully trained staff. ACS also has a 24-hour information line (1-800-ACS-2345) for public information.

ACS holds retreat weekends for families with cancer, information services for the public, cancer support groups for people with cancer and thier families, and a whole lot more - All with the funds that you donate.

At the turn of the century 1899-1900 the THREE major diseases responsible for deaths in the U.S. were diphtheria, influenza and pneumonia. Look what research as done to those in the 20th century. Let's see what we can do to cancer in the 21st century - Your dollars will help that research.
