I KNOW that a lot of you ARE HAPPY today for a variety of reasons.
If you are one that is ESPECIALLY Happy today because YOU, Your Mom, Aunt, Sis, Grandma, cousin, best friend or perhaps your niece or daughter survived Breast cancer think about saying THANKS to the American Cancer Society, who is the SECOND HIGHEST FUNDER of cancer research (2nd only to the Federal Government).

Based on the most recent data, relative survival rates for women diagnosed with breast cancer are: 89% at 5 years after diagnosis; About 88% of women diagnosed with breast cancer will survive at least 10 years

In a study in The New England Journal of Medicine, October 27, 2005: "Mammograms, Adjuvant Treatment Help Increase Breast Cancer Survival" by D.A. Berry et al.,
The researchers found that 28% to 65% of the increase in the breast cancer survival rate from 1990 to 2000 was due to mammograms. The rest of the increase was due to new adjuvant-therapy drugs.

Did you know that the Fed. govt AND ACS FUNDED ALL THESE STUDIES? (mammogram, CMF - a combo chemotherapy regimen for breast cancer, Tamoxifen and newer antiestrogen drugs for breast cancer?
