The Blind Side stars Sandra Bullock as Leigh Ann Touhy, an effluent woman who (along with her husband) takes a high school boy in when they learn that he does not have a home. The movie goes into how the Touhy's adjust, how Michael adjusts, and how Michael becomes a football standout. The film has some great performances by college coaches who try to recruit Micheal. The coaches play themselves, so it really makes the film good for men also.

Overall, a very good family film that really makes you cheer. Great for all ages, this one is a keeper.

Read the book, saw the movie...loved both. If you enjoyed the movie you should read the book to separate the truth from dramatization. I think the book is even better.

I saw it at a screening with Leigh Anne and Sean Touhy (the people the film is based upon). I got to talk with both of them afterward. They are the nicest people. As for separating truth from fiction, there is no better source than the people who lived it. I did not get to talk to them as long as I wanted, but in the little time we talked, and from reading parts of the book, I can tell you that the only part that was fictionalized is about Michaels' grades. Yes, Hollywood took a little liberty to make the story more paced and left a few things out, but that is to be expected. It is funny because the actual Memphis school would not give them permission to use their name in the movie, so it is changed. And, the film itself was shot in Atlanta, not one scene was actually filmed in Memphis.

I saw the preview and have been dying to see this one. It seems like another Remember the Titans movie, like that type of good! I didn't know this was a book, but I'm definitely going to read it now. Thanks!

I never made it to the movie theaters to see this movie so while I was at walmart today I purchased it. We just finished watching it and we all really liked it. I believe I probably liked it more than anyone b/c I am a huge Sandra Bullock fan anyway. Her compassion really shows through this movie. I was very impressed with her performance, as with the other actors.

In my opinion, this is her best role yet and I believe she really did deserve that Oscar. I do have to mention too that I am so sorry to hear what she is having to deal with personally, and she doesnt deserve that at all.
