I want you to tell your sister for me that my sister is 48 and can't sustain a relationship because she is such a horrible person - She has a nasty streak and is selfish and demanding. It doesn't matter what she looks like. Your sister is a smart, nice person who has a smile that lights up a room. She has been through a lot and that has made her tough and resiliant. As my grandma used to say, every pot has a cover.
Not everyone finds their true love at 22. Life is not a fairy tale or a romance novel.
Have as much fun as you can, finish your education, continue to be the wonderful person you are, and someone who is WORTHY OF YOU is going to show up when you least expect it.
Cards and stickers may not solve the problem. But they mean we care. Many of us are much older then you and have seen more life. What is earth shattering at 22 is trivial at 32, etc.
This too will pass, and you will be stronger and better for it. If life had no bumps in the road, it would be mighty dull. You have come a long way, don't stop now.

Yeah, we googled it. Her condition is sooo rare there's only one support group and from the look of it (it's only online).

I think I would have to sponser/support a local one and I don't know if I have the energy/stamina to do that right now.

But if I have to I will KWIM!!!

Even if there isn't a specific support group, she should try and find a therapist (if she is in college, there will be someone available on a sliding scale somewhere) who can help her with her self esteem and self worth feelings. No one should get to that point of despair and not have someone to talk to.

Thanks Leah! For a while there she had problems with transportation and getting to and from her therapist's appt.

But more she switched to someone who is closer to her.

I'm a day late and a dollar short, as usual, but I sent her a card yesterday.

America will not become great again until her citizens realize that social responsibility requires more than simply making a tax deductible donation to the charity of their choice.

I just found this thread, but I would still love to send your sis something. She is beautiful and from your story, she is beautiful on the inside as well. I am sorry she is feeling the way she does, but it is all in God's timing. I am positive there is someone out there for her and when she stops looking, it will come to her.

I hate that society has turned "looks" into a very important thing. It should not be!! No one person is the same, so it doesn't make sense to me that someone would judge somebody on the way they look. They will be judged in the end, it is not our place! She is beautiful!!

She is darling! And you can see how nice and kind she is just by looking into her eyes! 18 surgeries! Poor thing! I had 2 laperoskopies and c-section and I said, no more, no more!!! But 18 surgeries!
