Default Does anyone lose motivation when couponing?

We've had so much with life going on that I've totally lost motivation ... I have a great stock pile of the essentials... Razors, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, soap, cleaning supplies, canned goods, etc. I now coupon for therapy but am to a point I'm like, I just don't need anything else & really don't have much room for more stuff... I have a stack of misc inserts that's about 6 inches tall & have yet to clip & sort... I even got 4 of ea of the last inserts that came out & I'm just feeling blah... I usually enjoy doing CVS along with other stores too but even with $15 in ecbs I'm like eh... Anyone else get in a couponing funk? Do you break away & take a break or just slow down? I love to coupon but almost feeling burned out... Been couponing for about 2 yrs but hitting it hard this past year... I do donate stuff but have primarily kept it to just family & will start to restock items once I get low...

I TOTALLY know what you are talking about. I go through the same thing quite often. What I decided to do was just go after the deals the really excite me or I need for regular usage. I too have enough "stuff" to last myself and family quite awhile. Seems like a pretty common thing for us crazy couponers. It's a lot of work to bring things hope for cheap or free all the time. The excitement will return after a bit I bet.

I slow down a lot when I feel a lot of deals won't work in my favor. That's my cue to slow down girl or better yet stay home Been couponing for 15 years now and have slowed down since '08.

When I notice I can stay home a full week without the need to buy anything, it means I've saved a lot that should've been spent on groceries and gas. That's what keeps me going.

A gf and I were talking one time, she said jokingly, I'm saving up bail for my sons; I told her, I'm saving to spend on fun stuff. My kids better behave since I'll have no bail money for them

I also have slowed down a little. Even if its a good, not free, deal Im like na, don't need it right now. I think thats a good thing. Shows we are stocking up. When the good sales roll around again we will be ready to go

Yes!! I do take somewhat of a break...actually this year we were away on vacation for 3 weeks at a country where they don't have the coupon system we do here ....so I was stressing out that I was missing out on good sales. Anyway, it helped me to slow down and to see things on a different light. Since I already have a good stockpile of necessities, what I do now is get the coupons from roasted almond (here in weusecoupons.com) and I watch out for nonperishable things that I can get for free (razors, toothpaste) and I accumulate to give away to charity....In my case I will send it to Nicaragua in my annual shipment.

I take a break every few months.. and/or only go after the deals that I really need.. for the last 8 months I have been focusing on diapers, wipes, baby food and formula.. since I have a NB now, but will go after other deals on an as needed basis.. ie paper towels, toilet paper, etc.. i stay on top of the food deals as much as i can for the rest of the house on a regular basis.. but as far as the HBA stockpile, we have enough for yrs, so i dont go after that stuff much anymore, unless we are low or someone wants somethign specific.. it can be super time consuming for me and with 5 littles I have to be choosy with my time.. i get b urnt out really quick with all that i have goin on!

SAHM to 5 amazing kiddos..DS9, DD7, DS6, DD3, and DD 2 month old! ..who loves her (pain in the butt) DH, hates, and is trying to save some $$$!

I took a long break to the point I let my stockpile get tooo low. I had so much going on last year. I just started back in June. My niece said, "I remember when I used to come over here & shop!". All I could do was lol

I haven't been couponing much lately either. It's been a crazy summer so far with so many "family functions", ball games and so on. Plus we are leaving on vacation for 2 weeks. DH has been working crazy hrs and hasn't been home, so I haven't been cooking much. I know when things settle down at the end of August, I'll hit it full force again.

I think everyone needs a break every now and then! You could always donate the coupons or use them to get stuff for free for a shelter/resque/foodbank/church or so on

Looking for Lysol coupons

Looking for Ragu sauce $1 off 1 coupons

Check out my couponing facebook group
