Well in May we are getting a Walmart and they are hiring 350 people. So I was hoping to get a job there, but i need a job now. Walmart will be about 40 miles away. The Rite Aid is closer to 30 miles away.

Are there any manufacturing busineses in the area? Office buildings? Another oppourtunity you might consider is maid service ~ house/office cleaning.
Just think outside the box. Don't limit yourself to working for a company, but do something you can... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Cathleen, I hope you find a job very soon. My daughter is looking for a job and it is very hard right now. Her best friend got a job working at a funeral home--she's terrified of dead people!
Just for information and in case you can use it, years ago(almost 20!!), I worked in a grocery store and we had many people apply for a job every day. Back then, people wanted a job, but it wasn't a tough job market like it is now and there were many small businesses in our small town. We had 4 grocery stores and now we have one and a Walmart. Some of the rules were, be presentable, be friendly, be knowledgeable about the business, and be polite. If you weren't all of these things, you didn't get a job. Also, the biggest pet peeve was people that called for a job. The general idea was if you really wanted a job, you would be out pounding the pavement and looking for a job, not calling for one. We wouldn't even put someone through to the manager if they called, but we would take down their name so we'd know who they were in case they came in later to apply. Good luck!! |
