So probably not a big deal to everyone else....but I got a late bday gift from a friend who lives out of state today and wanted to share....but lemme go a little further back first.

I turned 26 on the 20th....my mom kept my kids overnight as a gift to me so I could spend quiet time with my husband and sleep in for the first time in probably the better part of 2 years, which was godly btw....I slept til 11:30 the next morning!

My husband's work sells certain products(he's a mechanic) for services that come with "tokens" that they save and trade in for GCs when the guy who refills the products comes around...my husband saved and saved and got $30 to Outback which is my favorite restaurant(I also had a coupon...LOL, coupons are beyond awesome!). He had the night off from his second job, did a fast sidejob for a friend at work and got $10 to put in our gas tank so we could drop our kids off at my mom's and drive to Outback....I also got a free rental from our local store because it was my birthday.....so just that night I got a dinner out with my hubby, an awesome movie and a child free night(and sleep in morning) for nothing, which was so awesome!...


but back to today, my friend jess called me and said she didn't know when but to watch my mail, she had had something commissioned for my birthday. Jess is very creative, so I've been wondering for about 2 weeks now and it got here today, it's a beautiful glass pendant with a picture of my babies inside, one of my VERY favorite pictures of my babies...and on a teeny ball chain. I know most ppl would say "eww, ball chain, really?" but I am just NOT good with jewelry, my engagement ring and wedding band are ALL that I have that have survived my abuse, out of SEVEN YEARS...and the ball chain is perfect for me. I wore two all through highschool without managing a dent in them. SO this was a wonderful surprise from a friend who knows me so well even though she lives so far away! Small moral to the story, be thankful for all the friends you have, not just the ones you see everyday. I couldn't get her on the phone to thank her earlier, but I can't wait to talk to her again and tell her just how much this means to me.



ohh and to round off the mail, I got a rebate check

That is awsome. I love how creative you and your hubby were for getting a free birthday. That is just my style too. Dinner, movie and sleep in. I can't think of a better gift.
