Icon1 Dawn is the Invention

Update!
They say necessity is the mother of invention and here is what happened. I noticed my homemade soap is separating onto 3 Layers: hard top layer, gelatin-spooge, water. I wanted to give a sample of my homemade soap to my coupon buddy. First bottle I found had a smidgeon of Dawn left in the Dawn bottle, so I poured in the stirred up separated mix in the Dawn bottle - and shake it up. Pressed for time to meet my buddy for Lunch, I poured in the homemade stuff in a cleaned empty water bottle to give to her.
This morning I noticed - uh, inside that Dawn bottle, my spooge of separated Layers is gone!
No more 3 layers!
So we are going to try adding a few tbsp. blue Dawn to a batch of homemade soap, and see if we get the same results: No more separated Layering.
If you have the same situation with layering, you may want to try adding some Dawn.

Shhhh! Be va-wee, va-wee quiet. Dee is shopping for bargains!

Wow, yet another thing dawn is good for plus it's a good degreaser so it helps in the detergent.

Thanks!

Loads for the dry version, I am reading from the Borax box it is 4 Lbs. 12 oz.,
the AH Washing soda is 3 Lbs. 7 oz.
A bar of Zote soap is 14.1 oz.
so about 8 -9 pounds of the dry stuff.
We had a good find today at Walmart: Zote Bar Flakes $2.67 a box, grated zote flakes. The Zote bar is .97 cents but I had to try the pre-grated stuff. I gotta stay out of the laundry aisles, temptation just takes over at the very sight of Zote flakes!

Not sure exact number of loads, but it fills up a little over 2 of the large square ziploc plastic containers.

the 55 oz. box Arm and Hammer super washing soda is $3.97 at Walmart.
Another update, today I poured off the water where the home brewed soap has separated.
I was left with a whipped mixture of the creamy, thick spooge similar to what was in my recycled Dawn bottle. I used some of the "spooge" to scrub the bottom of my club aluminum pan. It took the years of brown, burned on gunk off the pan- it looks new.
Sticky labels on cans or bottles? no prob, soaked it in spooge.
I am finding lots of uses for my homemade soap, scrub floors, woodwork and it takes off bottle
labels better than the commercial brand goo-Gone.

Shhhh! Be va-wee, va-wee quiet. Dee is shopping for bargains!
