Late to the party, but congrats on homemade laundry soap!

We've been making our own for about three years I think, and it's such a relief to not have to haul laundry detergent home.

I use any bar soap that I can find on sale, because I re-dilute the mixture. When I mix up 5 gallons worth, I get an empty detergent bottle, pour half in, and then fill the rest with hot water. So Olay, Tone, Dial, whatever. It's all on the chopping block for laundry detergent. I also added about half a teaspoon I think of tea tree oil to the mixture. It smells pretty good and it disinfects well, too.
