Default Mean Cashiers

Today I bought two Pampers, one fun size candy bar pack, and one visine. Used two $1.50/1 ips for Pampers. Neither scanned. And the ad q and $2 mq for the visine. Neither of those would scan either. The cashier was new and had to call another cashier over. She tried to tell me I couldn't use the mq and the ad q together. I politely told her that I could. She called the mgr who confirmed that I could do that. Finally got all my coupons in and I hand the cashier a $5 up. Oh dear! That wouldn't scan either. The two cashiers were both visibly irritated with me, the lines were backing up...it was horrible. I tried to stay calm and was very apologetic. Neither of the cashiers would even look at me. I felt so awful when I left. Spent half my lunch hour on a relatively simple purchase and made a lot of people mad.

I was going to add a pack of cigarettes after the ups were in (that's what I usually do to keep the ups away from the cigarettes cuz I know you can't use them on tobacco) but I ended up not doing that because I felt so bad. The funny part is I had a coupon for those too! I think I would have been attacked by an angry mob if I tried.

I was able to get my deals but the whole experience stunk. Sorry for rambling. Thanks for listening.

Im sorry about your horrible trip. There is always that ONE (or two lol) cashiers that make things so difficult.

Sorry you had a bad trip, but what I have realized, is that since Rite Aide got these new scanners, they give alot of trouble on coupons (especially IPs) and even their own UP bucks don't scan sometimes.

I had the same problem, when another cashier came over and showed her that the scanner sometimes won't pick up the entire bar code. She set the scanner down and then started with the coupon in front of the scanner and moved the coupon back until the scanner picked it up. Worked on every single one that the first cashier couldn't get to scan without any problems. Sometimes it's the equipment not you so don't feel bad just wait it out and usually it will all work out.

Sorry to hear you had a bad time at Rite Aid. I think yesterday was the first time all of my coupons scanned without 1 beep and even the cashier said wow all your coupons scanned.

Sorry you had a rough trip UPs dont scan very well at my store either. At least one or two end up getting typed in per trip, it can be frustrating!

i have stopped shopping at riteaid. they are not coupon friendly and sometimes not even for their own coupons and extra rewards. imagine the manager refuse to take my +up rewards. i had just got it from him 2 minutes earlier. it did not scan and he will not key it in. he took the goods back and cancelled the sale. i complained to riteaid on facebook in a complaint forum they setup and they edited my post. no longer a riteaid fan.

ok here is a little secret.... for some reason at my store ups and coupons do not ring if you have more coupons then items.. so you have a extra item to scan just in case.. thats what my store manager has been having us do ... just because if you have to key in the ups we do not get credit back for them...and you know what? it works lol.. im a couponer too.. so thats what I have the cashier do to..

Personally, this is why I, for the most part, have stopped shopping at Rite Aid. It was always one thing or another there - either they were OOS on items I wanted or there were problems at the register. In addition, my Rite Aid is across town so the cost of gas is also a factor for me. It is unfortunate because they have a lot of great deals. Once in a while I jump back in, but I usually try to spend my UPs pretty quickly instead of attempting to roll them from one week to the next. Sometimes the savings just isn't worth the frustration.
