Sooo discouraged on my first trip. The clearance item were almost cleared out. The items were over priced. My cashier wasnt sure if I could combine store and manufacturer coupons. Two items rung up at the wrong price :/ I'm still confused about the RR and how they work as well. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advanced, everyone has been so helpful at WUC. Love ya guys

Wags is definitely a hard store to try and use coupons! My advice is to read the store policy, even take a copy with you so that you know what your able to do....and start small! just do a couple of transactions at a time because the large ones will overwhelm you and trying to roll RR's will be difficult. When I started, I wrote down what I was buying, what to expect to pay and also what RR's I would get back and which ones to use in transaction 2 (you won't receive a RR for a product if the use a RR from the same company to pay for it). It will take time and you may screw up a few times, but it's all part of learning and you'll get the hang of it!

Hi!! What really helped me was the video on Wags-- have you watched it yet? You will LOVE it!! It's located under Coupon Resources on the green toolbar above!!
You can use a store q with a manf q, though and you WILL get the hang of it and you will BE GREAT and save lots of money there!! Blessings! Co-Forum Leader for Welcome Center

Along with the other great suggestions already given, I would recommend reading thru all the info in the WAGS 101 thread. There is lots of great info there also.

When I'm trying to steer others through the Wag's insanity, I use three simple things.
1) copy someone else's trip, even if you don't need every little thing listed. It helps when trying to understand the mechanics of it. Personally, I copied the lists of other people for a good month before I was brave enough to freelance. (It helps to look through a few listings to see one that closely matches your needs.) 2) stick with small transactions and only do one or two per trip. That way you aren't overwhelmed with RRs, coupons, receipts, cash, etc. Even if you just take a break for long enough to go to your vehicle for a minute, taking a break helps. 3) go easy on yourself. Walgreen's is complicated, especially when beginning. You will mess up, you will get confused, and you will find a better deal when you get home and look over the ad again. I stayed far away from Walgreen's for a long time because it was scary. Now I'm in there at least twice a week. Yes I like cvs more lol. Found better overall sales so far and better customer service. I think I might need to try another Walgreens or jump on sales sooner. There might other local couponers I need to compete with. Thank you very much for ideas everyone

A few hints.
Try to go at a time when the store is not busy. (drive-time 4-7 is a really busy time). That way you won't feel as rushed. Try to check out in Cosmetics. If you don't see a ba around the area. Ask at register 1 for them to page the ba. (alot of times we are in the stock room.) Ask the cashier to allow you to "set up" your transactions and lay all your items out in order of your transactions. I think the majority of the time, the reason a trans. goes bad is, they counted everything they could see, and forgot to count the rr they haven't gotten yet. one more tip. Cut out the store coupon just like you would a Mfc coupon. That way you don't forget to use them. I hope this helps even a tiny bit . |
