I was in WalMart today to pick up some free Purina One Beyond and free Friskies cat treats. I remembered that Heinz 57 was on sale at Safeway BOGO, but I had no clue if WalMart would price-matched a BOGO sale, so I decided to grab two and take them up to the register and ask for a price match for BOGO.

They charged me 1/2 price for each bottle $1.96 and accepted (2) $1/1 coupons.

I don't shop at WalMart that often, but their price matching is AWESOME!!

Nice trip. Walmart policy says the price has to be specified, however, Walmart allows their Store Managers to be competitive, and many Walmart stores will price match a BOGO without the specified price. Good job! I like hearing happy stories.

Ya, I had no clue about how it works. I may go back and get a couple more bottles before the sale ends at Safeway. I happened to go in Safeway on my way home and their price was $6.49 for the same size bottle!! RIDICULOUS!!

We use Heinz 57 in a homemade steak marinade recipe, so it is something that I always have to have in the pantry.

With free Friskies Party Mix coupons. I didn't get them in my inserts so I can't tell you which one they were in, but a friend of mine knows I have a kitty and offered to send them to me along with (10) Purina One Beyond coupons!! I have nice friends.

As far as price matching BOGO, I wasn't sure how it worked or IF they would do it. I just went up to the register and said, "I have a BOGO price match from Safeway." They started scanning. It was just that simple. If they had said they wouldn't do it, that would have been fine. I guess ignorance is bliss. The great thing is now I know they will do it. Watch out WalMart for BOGO sales at my grocery stores!!

The BOGO deal at WalMart was too good to pass up. A bottle of Heinz 57 that is $6.49 at Safeway for $.96!! So I decided to go back today and use the rest of my Heinz 57 coupons and price match a couple of other items that were BOGO at Safeway.

The great thing at WalMart is that they will take a coupon for each item. Safeway will not allow you to use a coupon on the free item.

I would have spent $39.12 at Safeway, but only spent $14.28 at WalMart - an extra savings of $24.84 at WalMart which allowed me to stockpile (12) Heinz 57 Sauce (which I would never have done at the Safeway price). I only bought (2) French's and (2) Lea & Perrins.

Good for you! now you don't have to buy these things for a while.

I'll have try a BOGO at my store. When I started using coupons I wasn't sure how the price match worked. I had a cashier price match a Rite Aid price after the UP. That was a long time ago and haven't tried it since.
