Today I made a HUGE pot of taco soup. Some of it we ate for super, and the rest has been divided up and frozen for meals later in the month.

I happened to Check the Thursday meat clearance/ markdowns at Kroger. I have a bunch of London Broil marked down to $3 - $4 each. I plan to cook them same as a pot roast, use differently in recipes.
One batch to be used as shredded beef, one as beef vegetable soup, one for pot roast & brown gravy, and the last batch to be used as philly steak and cheese. Not bad at all for $25 worth of meat! ![]() Lucky 2 B A Wuckie! |

Hoping to freeze biscuits today. My freezer is so full, I don't know if I can wedge them in. Aldi's has had some terrific markdowns on bread, so I had to buy it in bulk. So no freezer space. ):

made black eyed peas for new years day and about 2 small containers of those will go in the freezer for later use.
Havent made much else to put away. I am planning a day to get alot of cooking done to get us through the next month or 2 in the next week. Working on my lists now. Plus I am trying to find a few new recipes. Im worn out on the ones I have. Plus I am getting a good deal on chicken breast this week $1.86lb. (thats good for me) so I need to incorporate that. I plan on cleaning out the freezers this weekend and rearranging things to make room. Plus see what we have that needs to be ate soon. Always ISO BTFE's and CLFE's

Freezer full to the top w/deer meat. I plan to start using this meat in meals and making planned leftovers to freeze. Today home made hot pockets & breakfast biscuits

I am going to do
Baked potato soup- 2 batches- since come March around here it warms up! One for now and one for later and Two batches of Chili: one for now and one for later. I am still good on cookie dough, but i am thinking of doing an amish bread stater to make some bread and freeze! |

Well, I had plans on having tomato soup & grilled cheese for dinner tonight in front of the TV with my PJ's on. But I thought I should be productive since I finally have some alone time in the house. So I spent my evening in the kitchen.
Made Baked Oatmeal--Frozen in 1 cup containers enough for 2 weeks Baked DH's pound cake--slice froze enough for 4 weeks Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting for lunches--enough for 2 weeks--I bake in 11 x14 inch pan I shredded up a lb of carrots, I want to make carrot cake tomorrow- to freeze. The rest will be for Mac salad for the week and salad topping. Now on to cleaning out the fridge. I would bake more tonight but all my measuring utensiles are in the dish washer getting cleaned. I am too lazy tonight to hand wash. LOL Have a great night everyone! |
