I'd be willing to bet that Child Services in Baton Rouge either would be able to use donations or that they'd know who could. If nothing else then kids, in theory, are being placed in emergency custody foster care and need items.

The teen shelters in my area (northern Atlanta) can also use linens (towels, wash clothes, bedding), 1st aid supplies, cleaning supplies (all kinds), movies, sports equipment and board games. They're also always accepting non-perishable food, toiletries, and clothes.

Most places will have a "wishlist" posted on their website or available if you call. It's a great idea so that they get what they need and don't get swamped with things they can't use or don't need.
Here in Northern Va there is Alternative House on Gallows Rd. behind Tysons and also a family shelter in Centreville that could be possible donation recipients. |

Here in my area there is the Sasha Bruce Youthwork located in DC. They have a couple different ways to donate--monetary or actual goods and have posted some things that thye are really in need of.
