WOW... thank you to Foggy and everyone who has helped to make this movie list and it's links ! So wonderful to see such interest from people, instead of the usual lack of interest and blank looks that I get from people when mentioning/suggesting movies like these. I LOVE to know there are other people (especially parents) out there who are learning more about what true "good/real food" is as well as what the true "dangers" are and how profoundly they will/are affect our children and grandchildren.

So I have another movie suggestion ... although I give it with reservation. Only because the "diet" that is used in this documentary is AMAZING .... but from my experience.... SHOULD only be temporary and in the documentary it is not. So let me just state for the record ... I DO NOT PROMOTE OR SUGGEST/ADVISE A LONG TERM VEGAN DIET. I have lived 4 years going down that road and I have done 8 years of research on it. I can NOT state how important fat-soluble vitamins are for growing children, pregnant women, or women about to concieive.

Ok so the movie is ....."Simply Raw:Reversing Diabetes In 30 Days"
This is the trailer, not the full documentary... I don't know if that is available online or not.
Raw for Thirty Presents

I have had my mother-in-law and my grandmother both bring their sugar levels down to normal from the 300's even using a "clean" foods life style, and not just strictly vegan.

Thanks to all of you... I have more to post I think... I have to look at that list again

Learning new things that directly impact your health and the health of others is never a bad thing. If you do decide to watch something, it doesn't mean you have to change the way you live. It just gives you the choice. To me, knowledge is power. What I choose to do with the info I get is up to me.

I've heard of that movie, and I just want to add the clarification - this is talking about Type II diabetes, not Type I. Just in case anyone has them confused - type I diabetes is not reversible, its an autoimmune disorder (in all fairness, I'll note: I have type I diabetes).

I watched it as well. Its well-put into movie form what Dr. Joel Fuhrman and Dr. Neal Barnard have been putting into practice for years and years. Dr. Barnard's Program to Reverse Diabetes (book) and Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live (book) and Eat for Health (book) are some great resources if you're interested in the topic.

My recommendations for movies would be (not all available online, but I'll linky the websites). They're about food with an environmental bent.

A Farm for the Future - solving the food/fuel/farming dilemma.

Broken Limbs - its about the effects of globalization on farming, and in the words of one review shows "there is hope for small farmers—if they can convert to innovative sustainable agriculture practices, unplug from the globalized system, and deal directly with consumers."

Cuba: The Accidental Revolution - about how, when forced, the Cubans went from industrial agriculture conditions to sustainable, organic agriculture.

The End of the Line - this is a movie about how we are unsustainably farming fish and could face a real risk of losing them all.

Default Food Matters Movie

This is a great movie, I saw it on Netflix along with several other great documentaries of it's genre (A Beautiful Truth, Dying To Have Known, Food Inc, Tapped, etc.)

If you know anyone who is chronically ill or seriously ill please watch them you'll get a lot from it.

Their website for Food Matters dot tv is great because it provides lots of free movies and videos and many are available online 'somewhere' to watch for free. I think you can find their 'channel' on youtube and that may be 'just as fast' to look for them. It's so enlightening to see how the tribal people who live closer to the land and haven't bought into any of that stuff and how much healthier they are.

The things I've seen and learned from seeing people I love hurt by chemicals and molds and all kinds of things and then seeing how the things they talk about food and using nutrition etc to actually slow symptoms and in some cases get better well - it's saved lives, if you have seen it or are sick I'd enjoy chatting about it and sharing ideas of how to get healthier and use all the great tools here to help do that. When you realize how sick these things make people (including causing weight gain and stuff no matter how much you eat) you suddenly realize that all those things just aren't worth it.

Wishing everyone well!

I really loved Food Inc.! We watched that one about a year ago.
Another that I saw about 2 months ago, which has also made a difference in how I eat is Fat Head.

I am unable to post links since I have not made 15 posts yet... oops.

Loved food matters, and the book that goes along with it "Superfoods" by David Wolfe!
