Katie wtg on the weight loss. As far as the diet goes eggs are usually a pretty cheap option, add an over easy egg to stir fried veggies super yummy, quiche w veggie egg and chicken for dinner, add hb egg to salads and they are way more filling. Also veggie soup is pretty inexpensive and a good add on to a meal when u can't add on carbs. I'm not sure what all is allowed on keto but those are just quick ideas that jumped into my head.

Today did 2 1/2 mile walk w friends and did plank challenge day #5...those side planks were not fun lol!!

It's def more expensive but most diets I have been on after you lose the weight u can add back in whole grain pasta, oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potatoes etc as carbs, I am going a different route this time and not worrying about carbs except to limit sweets, eat whole grain-- my weight loss has been slow but steady I know u can lose weight faster w less or limited carbs but I can't do that and keep it up for more than a few days at a time lol

down to 213.4! yay! another pound gone.

Katie your doing great, the first month was very challenging, and for staying in budget, I shop at the restaurant supply store (URM Cash and Carry)
get a 5 pound bag of pepperoni for 13.00 and a 9 pound hunk of mozzarella cheese for 12.00. makes a lot of good snacks.
I started experimenting with "fat bombs" - those are yummy, lots of recipes for those and you can customize to budget.

Thanks today was a bad day..pizza..chocolate lol. It was like once i started...i didnt stop...i did eat a salad and cottage cheese only for supper...but pizza was lunch..oh well back on track tomorrow.

Katie I did bad too, DH & I gave ourselves a cheat meal for dinner bc we finally had our life insurance test this morning and we've been making a pt to eat really healthy leading up to it. But I did go to Zumba this evening before I picked it up and day #6 of plank challenge was rest but we did plank at the end of class, so I'm pretty sure I burned a lot of it off in advance lol.

katiecoupon13: I'm no dietitian, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Meat and potatoes, with some pasta and rice meals here is common as well.

I'm not familiar with the Ketogenic Diet, but looking at what Shadnamber posted as part of her menu a while back, it looked somewhat similar to the Atkins Diet, which I did for a couple of years a good while back. As to meal planning, the Atkins Diet jacked up my grocery bill a quite a bit.

Salad: Being a natural big salad eater helped me a lot with the Atkins Diet.

Hamburger: You can still have your hamburgers or cheeseburgers, just eliminate the bun, and call it "hamburger steak". You may have noticed in the dinner thread, that I still do the hamburger steak quite often, because I prefer it over eating it on a bun.

Hotdogs: Take hotdogs, split them in half, melt cheese on top of them. No bun.

Pizza: I used to make a homemade pizza in a casserole dish, with everything on it, but no crust or bread.
