Am I the first to find the March thread? Now that is funny. I usually look at the previous month's for a couple of days and wonder why no one is posting.
I am ready for March! Better weather, planting gardens, and just enjoying God's glory. We are still working on our new chicken runs/house. I want the chicken taj mahal and we can only afford a chicken shack! DH having this neck and shoulder issue is slowing us down. I have prayed for all of our husbands and families lately. Seems they all needed it at once. This morning I am working on our menu plan for the month. Seems that it is easier if you are pretty stocked to begin with. Not stocking up after you make the meal plan. So I have a week and a half done so far this morning. Today is supposed to be rain again here, so I am working on organizing the kids clothes. Trying to see what they will need for warmer weather. We really don't need a lot of cold weather things. But it is getting time to break out the shorts and flip flops. My dd (2) is obsessed with flip flops. She will put on any pair she can find on the wrong foot and flops them all over the house. I can't wait to get her a pair that actually fit. Frugal things of the day: Menu Staying home Eating at home Planning ahead for kids clothing needs so i don't have to buy anything unplanned and over priced |

Well, today's lunch isn't so frugal...I spent $2.30 (smal town grocer) for a box of Asian helper...(mother nature's fault!) and so i'm waiting on it to cook and downing pamprin and rasberry tea...i plan on sitting with my hot beans (no heating pad; it burned up) on the computer ALL DAY LONG...(wait, thats no different that other days! LOL)_ jk

I am so excited about month. I have saving goals I am going to do my best to accomplish.
My garden plans are made-seeds bought and as soon as the weather permits I'm getting started! I will need to be more frugal this month to achieve my goal but I can do it. I have plenty of food frozen, canned and stocked up but will continue to add to it. Today I'm making a list of more ways I can cut back. You'd be surprised at what you can do if you really want to reach a goal. One thing I'm not going to do is buy new Summer clothes. I have plenty from last year. I have to buy pool supplies for the G-kids every year but not this year. They can use what I have and if they want something else their parents can buy it. That stuff is expensive! That's a couple of things I've come up with. Today I've straightened up my house. Got 2 loads of laundry done and am now waiting for it to warm up so I can go outside to work in my yard.

Thank goodness I found this site. Thank you Foggy, I know this is a busy time of year for you. The first frugal thing I did this month was call Direct TV-we have to have a satillite no cable out here in the country. Can't use an antenna due to being in a valley it would have to be 30 foot tall at least. Anyway, got my bill reduce down to 80.00 per month from 119.00-all I did was ask when my contract was up and they connected me to their retention dept and I got the savings. Last month was electric bill was 127.00 dollars and I told DH & DS that we have to cut back on that because the electric company is not our friend and does not need our money. This months bill is down to 107.00 so that is a nice savings there as well. We don't pay for water due to having a well nor do we pay for sewage. I still want he electric bill under 100.00 dollars so hoping daylight savings will help with that.
Now I am going to make this weeks grocery list --see what I need, what's on sale and what Q's I have. My budget is 75.00 a week this month. Let's see how I do. Happy Frual Livining Everyone!!! |

I redid my budget last night to work the missing pay for this pay period into it and adjust for when I will have it. I never found a happy home for the foodsaver yet its on the dining room table still. I did stare at the kitchen for a good 20-30minutes though does that count.
Today I need to do laundry and take my mom to the Drs. And figure out a menu still for the next week or two. The bathroom remodel starts on Tuesday so that needs to be finished with the clean out (I didn't realize I had so much stock in there!) I'm going to look on craigslist for bookcases or shelves we need one for the pantry area now. Breakfast was oatmeal and muffins this morning lunch will be left overs (I want them gone don't want to re purpose them if I don't have to) |

So I'm starting off march wonderfully!!! Other than my monthly visit from eve, curse her, our federal refund hit the bank this morning!!! So by tomorrow evening we should be debt free. I'm pretty sure there isn't any that's going to sneak up on us but of it does we will have the big stuff out of the way! I'm so excited!!! I absolutely cannot wait! And it couldn't have come at a better time as dh's check was small since he didn't get his usual batch of overtime because he was sick. So I'm excited! Now keep your fingers crossed it all works out! I'm so ready be debt free!

I am going to try to be really frugal this month. I want to cook meals at home, no wasting gas driving around, only go to grocery store once a week. I live right across the street from publix so its easy to just run over for milk, bread whatever I forgot on the weekly trip, but the extra gas/money paid at the store adds up! I just want to cut out all the little things that dont seem like a big deal but add up and get in the way of me reaching my financial goals. I have really learned so much from everyone that posts here and I really appreciate it

And good luck to you! You can do it!! What excites me the most about getting debt free this year is it will enable us to get a house and next year when we get our refund, we can use some of it to do whatever we want! It won't all be tied down on debt or bills. Wife to Chad Mom to Luke
